Home Ed Monthly Workshops at The Skep, Moulsecoomb Place, continues this Thursday 2nd July 2026 10am to 11.30am

What to Expect: Join me for a fun pottery workshop, suitable for children age 8+.
I'm starting a monthly session, the first Thursday of the month, it costs £15 per participant, parents can join in if they want to or sit back and grab a drink.

I've been working with clay for 30 years now and have been running after school clubs around Brighton for about 22 years and I'm first aid trained and DBS checked.
I've recently moved my ceramic studio behind Moulsecoomb Place, which has been taken on by East Brighton Trust, so it's a wonderful opportunity for me to hire "The Skep" to run the workshops from, being close to my studio.

The way I run my workshops starts with a demonstration of what we'll be making. I'm always happy for children to make their own creations but I try to cover some of the basic techniques, such as pinch pots, coiling and slab building, just so they can understand the main ways to work with clay.

Then the following month the pottery will have dried, been fired in the kiln and then the children can glaze it and you'll have plenty of time to make something new. The whole process does take time, as the glazed pottery has to go back in the kiln for a second time but is worth the wait.

If you would like to book a space, email [email protected] and I'll email you a booking form and a link to my sum up shop for you to pay. It's £15 per person taking part, space will be limited, so if you know you want to come, purchase a ticket but I'm also happy to accept drop ins on the day if there are spaces.

I am asking parents to stay on site and you can either make something yourself or the kitchen will be available to make beverages.

The address of the venue is The Skep, Moulsecoomb Place, Lewes Road, Brighton BN2 4GA. Ideally reaching the workshop by public transport, as there is no public parking, we are right next to Moulsecoomb train station.

Do email me [email protected] for all enquiries and to book a spot.
