Next Sunday is our second volunteer recruitment day at Barnards Miniature Railway. This event gives you a taster of some of the work we carry out behind the scenes to keep the railway running.

As we head into Winter we are looking to upgrade the railway ready for 2026 and are always in need of new volunteers to help maintain, build, and operate it.

We are pleased to announce two Volunteer Recruitment Days on Sunday 26th October and Sunday 16th November 2025.

Although we are gently coming to the end of our running season, we have a busy programme of activities behind the scenes planned over Winter. This ranges from track maintenance, signalling installation, painting, carriage and wagon renewals, and more.

If you would like a taster on what to expect as a BMR volunteer please contact us to book your place.

Elanay is the next announcement we can make for our BMR15 gala. This lovely red loco was built in 2010 and is the third 'Small Stafford' class of narrow gauge locomotive to be built.
She will be running train services on the Saturday of the gala alongside our fleet of steam and diesel locomotives and visiting loco 'Blanche'.

๐Ÿ’ตยฃ15 per person, this includes access to all listed attractions:
- Barnards Miniature Railway train rides
- Barnards Farm gardens open for viewing
- Vintage car and trike collection (one of four occasions this year)
Under 3's go free.
Purchase tickets on the day, contactless only please.

๐Ÿ•šGates open at 11:00.
Frequent train rides running from 11:00 to 16:00.
Generally, the railway is very busy when we open at 11:00, and quieten down further into the afternoon.

Next up is a special visiting engines announcement. Steam locomotive 'Blanche' will be joining us over the weekend. This loco visited last year and is back by popular demand. She will be running train services over the weekend alongside our home fleet of steam and diesel locomotives.
