Brentwood Museum UK The aim of the Brentwood Museum is to make the past come to life. We are a small, hidden gem, of a museum located in Lorne Road Cemetary in Warley.

We open one weekend a month - the first full weekend - between April and October. During the winter months we run a series of historical talks or talks on a point of local interest. If you are commenting here, or on any of our social saces please take note of the rules for engagment below. BRENTWOOD MUSEUM RULES FOR SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT

This is a safe space for you to discuss history, Brentwood and

the surrounding area, and to find out more about the museum and the museum society. Ask questions, leave comments and please get involved. In the interest of making this a safe space for everyone we will not tolerate:

* personal attacks and insults;
* posts that incite discrimination, violence, harassment, obscenity or offensive behaviour,
including threats;
* posts that incite any form of illegal behaviour - including those writing defamatory claims or * those posing a breach of privacy by including personal information;
* posts that promote or discredit a product, company, political party or any other
organisation;
* posts that are spam

We will use our discretion in determining whether content meets any of the above criteria and the museum reserves the right to delete comments or to block or ban users who break these rules.

Looking for something to do this evening? Come and join the Brentwood Museum Society for a talk on Project Redsand and the Redsand Forts with Dave Foulkes.

The talk will take place in the Gwendoline Lewis Room or Shenfield Parish Hall, Hutton Road, Shenfield, CM15 8LB.

Doors open at 7.30 with the talk starting at 7.45.
Members attend for free but there is a small charge for visitors.

Want to know what goes on behind the scenes at the museum? Come and join us on Thursday when a few of our volunteers share some of the detail about what goes on and what they get up to, you might be surprised at how much goes on!
We'll also have our AGM, tea and coffee too!

Looking for something to do on Thursday evening? Come and join the Brentwood Museum Society and find out more about how we operate and what we do. We'll have our AGM first and then short talks from various members of the museum team about their role at the museum.

Mised our opening weekend? Don't worry our next public opening will be in May, details below - But did you know Brentwood museum caters for group visits?

We can accommodate all sorts of groups outside of our regular opening days and times, at a time to suit you.

One of our volunteers will act as a dedicated guide for your group, pointing out interesting items in the museum and helping you explore the grounds in the Lorne Road Cemetery.

Happy Easter from all of us at the Brentwood Museum!

Don't forget we're open today too!

Sunday April 5 from 2.30 until 4.30 today.

We're located in the Lorne Road Cemetery just off Warley Hill, come on over and say 'Hello'.

You'll get a chance to see our exhibition called 'Food glorious food' showcasing packaging and cooking utensils from times gone by.

And there is also our permanent collection to see too!!

And if you can't make it today, we're open again on Monday the 6 April from 10.30 until 12.30.

Looking for something to do this weekend? The Brentwood Museum is open!

We're open from 2.30 until 4.30 on Saturday April 4, Sunday April 5, and again on Monday April 6 between 10.30 and 12.30.

You can find us in the Lorne Road Cemetary just off Warley Hill.

We have an exhibition on 'Food glorious food' and permanent exhibitions on local history and the Victorian family home, you can also take time to explore the cemetary and garden too.

Good morning!

Don't forget you can join us for an informative historical walk along Brentwood High Street later today.

We'll meet at the Town Hall at 5pm and leave from there. The walk will last around an hour or so.

Let's hope the rain holds off!
