Here's a link to an interesting article about Colonel John Blashford-Snell that appears in the Bournemouth Echo: https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/25762692.legendary-adventurer-john-blashford-snell-rooted-dorset/

David participated in the Colonel's 2012 expedition to The Bardia Reserve in West Nepal, and in an email to Wildlife Sketches last year the Colonel said: "As well as being a most talented and charming wildlife artist David was also in charge of the herpetological studies on the 2012 expedition to Bardia Reserve in West Nepal.

He produced some excellent illustrations and a very useful herpetological report dealing with crocodiles, turtles, frogs, a 5 metre python and a 2 metre king Cobra!

His report is now in the Scientific Exploration Society archives and also held by the RGS.

David was one of the hardest workers in our team and always volunteered for all the camp tasks, thus making him most popular. I prize a drawing of a young elephant he did for me. I hope this helps" Colonel John Blashford -Snell, 24/03/2025

The Colonel also gave an interview about David in our video from a few years ago ' Portrait of an Artist' Which is still available to view here and also on YouTube. https://youtu.be/AoprNs-ezGY?si=J9QeAGmlSUOOzIgl

His achievements are the stuff of legends, cut from the determined grit of river silt, steamy jungle humidity and a strong love of discovery.
