37025 ‘Inverness TMD’ & Class 117 DMU out on our Diesel Sunday 16/8/26!
Thanks to Scottish Thirty-Seven Group 37025 will be doing five round trips on an extended Purple timetable:
09:00 - 37025 to Manuel
10:30 - 37025 to Manuel
11:45 - Class 117 to Birkhill
12:30 - 37025 to Manuel
13:45 - Class 117 to Birkhill
14:30 - 37025 to Manuel
16:00 - 37025 to Manuel
Returning to Bo’ness at 17:02.

This will be the first chance to run behind 37025 at Bo’ness since overhauled as seen on Quest TV “We Saved a Train” with Francis Bourgeois and Chris Harris.
Tickets including a Day Rover option will go on sale shortly.

Museum of Scottish Railways will be open longer on 16th August from 10:00 to 17:00 and Bo'ness Gauge O Group O gauge model railway will also be open.

Afternoon teas available this Sunday (2nd August)!
Soak up the atmosphere of our award-winning heritage railway through the sights, sounds and smells of yesteryear. Included is an afternoon tea of freshly made sandwiches, cakes and scones with tea or coffee.
Vegetarian and Gluten Free are available, please let us know if you require this at time of booking. Unfortunately we cannot provide a Vegan option at this time.
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The afternoon tea is served at your seat in a shared carriage. You will not be asked to share a table with anyone out with your party.
Gift Vouchers are available now at a cost of £40.00 per adult and £33.00 per child (5-15), which includes train travel.

🚂 Service Update – Heritage Diesel Services This Week 🚂

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for your understanding and support following the train cancellations on Tuesday 21st July.

As the current hot and dry weather continues, all train services for the remainder of this week will operate with our heritage diesel locomotives. This decision has been made in line with the ongoing risk of lineside fires and helps us continue to operate safely while protecting our passengers, volunteers, staff and the surrounding countryside.

While we know many visitors look forward to experiencing our wonderful steam locomotives, we're delighted to still be able to offer journeys behind our historic heritage diesel fleet, each with its own important place in Scotland's railway story.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you on board this week. We can't wait to see our steam locomotives back in action as soon as conditions allow. ❤️🚂

While our train services are unable to operate today, the Museum of Scottish Railways remains open and we'd love to welcome you.

⚠️ Service Update – Tuesday 21st July ⚠️

We’re sorry to let everyone know that all services on Tuesday 21st July have been cancelled.

Due to the current spell of exceptionally hot and dry weather, and following Network Rail guidance regarding the increased risk of lineside fires, we have made the difficult decision not to operate our planned steam services.

We explored the possibility of running a replacement diesel service to reduce disruption. Unfortunately, due to operational constraints and the unavailability of a suitably qualified driver at short notice, this has not been possible.

We know this news will be disappointing, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Decisions like this are never taken lightly, but the safety of our passengers, volunteers, staff, and the surrounding countryside will always come first.

If you have a booking for Tuesday 21st July, we'd be delighted to transfer it to another date. Please contact our office, and we'll do our very best to find a suitable alternative.

If you're unable to rebook, please get in touch and we'll be happy to discuss the options available.

Thank you for your understanding and your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you back on board as soon as conditions allow our steam services to resume. 🚂❤️

Watch out for 37025 ‘Inverness TMD’ on Monday 20th July on test and then on the SRPS Railtours on 25th July 2026.
37025 featured on the very popular tv series.

It's been quiet on here but we've been working hard behind the scenes on our locomotive.

37025 is booked to return to the mainline on Monday 20th July on a circular route from Bo'ness, if you see our loco out and about don't forget to share your photos with us.
