History in The Field is a Multi Period Living History event ran by Western Desert Recce Group SCIO.

I would just like to point out that our event on the 20th 21st July is History in the field NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH ANOTHER EVENT called Force's in the Field held in August hope this will stop the confusion as keep getting PM from the other organisers saying people are getting mixed up .8

Yesterday was a very strange but interesting day for us at wdrg Charity. Some of us went along to support the David Livingstone centre open day but also to try and help promote our event History in the field 19th to 21st July. We'll the weather was supposed to have been terrible but it was very kind to us as we had vehicles it was not possible for us to be indoors. It was a very sorrel day not a lot of people but my god the few that took the time to stop and talk were a fantastic bunch 1st we had two Africans father and son father was on 4 weeks holiday visiting his son Joshua the father talked about his time in the military with tales of his time tracking and hunting poachers. Next was Alex and wife Alex was a fountain of knowledge on weapons and may be a future member I leave the best until last it was members of the Lanarkshire historical society and what a pleasure it was to talk with them I can only thank you all your member it was a joy for me to find others with the same interest in WWII POWs they even gave me a book (that will go in group library) after I have finished with it now that have agreed to come along on the Saturday for anyone wanting to research a family member military history it's a great asset.

Hey folk, to save any confusion we have changed our posters, sorry for this but we got so many requests to man the trench in the poster wish we could have one but did people really think that we dug a ww1 trench in the grounds of the David Livingstone centre 😜
We only hope with this new poster that nobody thinks we have brought in 5000 tons of sand as we have NOT 😁😆😆

We only have space for small number of traders so get those applications in.
