The Museum, which is in a historic former coach house has exhibits dating back to the Palaeolithic including Militaria, Victorian life, Mediaeval and

Georgian history, a Diorama of the famous Blandford 1731 Fire, Georgian clocks, school history, a model railway and much, much more. The Museum also has a Gift Shop selling homemade preserves, cards, pottery, children’s toys and many artisan gifts made by local artists. The Museum Victorian Garden, which is maintained by a group of volunteers sells plants and is set in a beautiful tranquil setting. Codes are placed at strategic points to guide visitors throughout the Museum, pointing out and describing selected exhibits. During the Spring/Summer months coffee mornings, plant sales and Friday suppers are held at the Museum. Admission to the Museum and Victorian Garden is FREE. The Museum is run entirely by volunteers, so relies on donations, grant funding and membership subscriptions. Opening times

Dorset Architectural Heritage Week is coming! 🏛️✨

Starting on the 11th September across Dorset. In Blandford, our Heritage Week events begin with the Cemetery Chapel, which will be open on the morning of Friday 11th September.

Then, on Saturday 12th September, the historic Blandford Town Hall will be open from 10am–1pm, coinciding with our Community Expo.

The Grade I Listed Town Hall was built in 1734. Come and visit this stunning historic room, which adjoins the more modern Council Chamber and the Corn Exchange, built in 1858.

Original features were reinstated in 2025 as part of the refurbishment project, and the venue is now completely accessible for the first time in its almost 300-year history!

Our Community Expo will be taking place in the Corn Exchange at the same time, where local groups and organisations will be showcasing what they have to offer. A café will also be open in the kitchen area. ☕🍰

Everyone is welcome! We hope to see you there.
