We want to say a massive thank you to Ruby's Birdlip for hosting our Roman Festival! 🏛️❤️

If you haven’t visited Ruby’s yet, you really must it’s a wonderful place and well worth a visit!

The bar is open from 2pm every Friday, with guest caterers each week. The coffee shop is open Saturdays 10am -1pm serving delicious bacon sarnies sausage sarnies and cake 😋

Pop along, support this fantastic local venue you certainly won’t regret it!

And it’s… Night night from Birdlip 🏕️

The Iron Age camp is set, the Roman camp is set... and the soldiers The Ermine Street Guard are currently doing whatever Romans did before bedtime. Polishing armour? Counting spears? Having a last grumble about the hill and a glass of wine?

Us - far too excited to sleep!

The car is packed up and we are ready to head out from Bream bright and early tomorrow for Birdlip Roman Festival.
As a former Latin student, and the Mum of a son who is studying Classics at Durham University, this event is right up my street!
There *may* be some dressing up in the offing too so make sure you pop by the stall tomorrow to have a look...! As well as that there will be the Ermine Street Guard marching the Ermine Way, talks and interactive displays, food and drinks, and, of course, market stalls. The weather is going to be brilliant, a little cooler than it has been, so perfect for a day out. See you there!

Don't forget folks, with the road CLOSED for the magnificent Ermine Street Guard March, there is VERY little chariot parking in the village!

Horse and Donkey parking is free 😁

And remember you do not have to leave a booking donation that is totally optional.
