Don't miss QSS artist Karl Hagan's solo show 'Tender Ruins' at , curated by ⭐️

We are so excited to see what Karl has been working on during his residency at !

'In this latest series, Hagan turns his attention to objects and spaces that form part of everyday life — things that are often overlooked or simply passed by. Plants and garden tables become substitutes for figuration, holding places within the paintings and offering windows into the lives and spaces they inhabit. These familiar objects are transformed through paint into something less fixed and more suggestive.'

Big congratulations to QSS artist Daniel Coleman, who is one of four international artists selected for House of Hulda’s residency programme in Andøya, Norway, in partnership with Rise Art London.

This residency will provide him with time and space this October to continue developing a new solo collection of paintings.

Congrats to QSS superstar ._, who is part of a gorgeous new exhibition, 'Threads', presented by the Glass Society of Ireland (a few months after having a newborn baby, no less!) 🌼👏

'THREADS: Time, Memory and Material is a curated exhibition of contemporary glass presented by the Glass Society of Ireland in partnership with Cashel Arts Festival 2026. Set within the Cathedral Chapter House, former home of the Bolton Library until 2016, the exhibition brings contemporary glass into dialogue with a space shaped by knowledge, preservation, and time.

Featuring artists working across a range of glass processes and material approaches, THREADS explores ideas of archive, fragility, and transformation. Informed by the historical and ecclesiastical landscape of Cashel, the works engage with the architecture, atmosphere, and layered histories of the site, creating connections between object, material, and place.'

Síofra Minnis – Nach tú?
Gallery 2, on display until Thursday 17 September

is a Belfast-based multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture and video, currently based at Queen Street Studios. Her practice investigates how archives, material culture, and systems of display shape our understanding of identity, with a particular focus on the colonial legacies embedded within the Irish landscape.

Nach tú is a common greeting in the Connemara Gaeltacht, translating loosely as “It’s you?” or “Isn’t it you?”, to which the reply is Is mé– “It’s me.” Embedded within this simple exchange is an affirmation of recognition, belonging, and community: an acknowledgement of knowing and being known. The exhibition takes this phrase as a starting point to consider what happens when that certainty of identity is fractured through generations of colonial occupation, cultural erasure, and inherited histories.

This exhibition continues Síofra Minnis’ ongoing investigation into Irish identity through sculpture and video, expanding a body of work centred on masked figures, imagined characters, and speculative artefacts. Presented as though recovered from an alternative archive, these objects question the authority of historical display, the ethics of collecting, and the instability of cultural identity itself.

🌙

is an Irish painter whose work explores material process, symbolic language and the relationship between making, repair and transformation. Sarah completed MFA in Painting at NCAD in 2007 and her studio is now based in Kinsale, Co. Cork.

'Painting functions here as a healing practice, physically manifested through layers of canvas strips that resemble gauze, mended and bound with paint. The paintings take on a near-corporeal vibration. Drawing on her learning and research in ancient astrology, shamanic traditions and visionary art, O’Brien builds paintings through dense layers of glue, papier mâché, canvas strips and accumulated surfaces. Her works often take on a sculptural presence, holding traces of their own making through words, marks and forms that appear partial, reversed or fragmented. '

A new public artwork by Eimear Nic Roibeaird at PeasPark!

“Coinciding with Lughnasadh, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann AND the return of our Irish for Artists programme, Anam na talún - meaning ‘soul of the fresh earth’ - is a new work made directly in response to PeasPark.
The harvest season is also associated with craftsmanship, community spirit, and the recognition that all growth comes with effort, and all rewards come with responsibility. The currently abundant foliage and rich crop of fruit in PeasPark is a result of our warmer-than-average weather in recent months. However, with growing concerns of drought, we are reminded that nature’s balance is precarious.”
