There’s something magical about capturing an ever-changing sky with the rich textures of oil paint and the bold strokes of a palette knife. 🌅 The way the colors blend and layer creates depth and movement that brushes just can’t replicate. Thick swaths of ultramarine and crimson collide with soft pastels, mimicking the sky’s vibrant drama as day fades into night.

The palette knife adds that raw, tactile energy—each swipe carving out clouds, each edge defining light and shadow. It’s messy, unpredictable, and beautifully imperfect, just like the skies that inspire us.

Have you ever tried using a palette knife for your skies? What’s your favorite color combo to bring that atmosphere to life? 🎨

Just the way it is Oil paintings of magnolia trees Magnolia paintings in full bloom — warm, vibrant colours bringing life to the canvas with every gentle stroke of the brush. There’s something timeless and calming in their presence, a softness that speaks to the soul. Let nature’s poetry unfold in petals and paint.

Soft graphite lines capturing the quiet poetry of the Irish landscape — rolling fields, weathered stone walls, and a sky that always feels a little closer to the earth. There’s something timeless about drawing with pencil; it lets me focus on light, texture, and the gentle rhythm of the land.

Drawn from memory and feeling, not just sight.

Pencil Drawing: Mussenden Temple, Castlerock

This drawing captures one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic landmarks — Mussenden Temple, perched dramatically on the cliffs of Castlerock. Sketched in pencil, I focused on the delicate textures of stone, the curvature of the architecture, and the sense of solitude it evokes as it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.

I’m always drawn to places where history and nature meet — and Mussenden Temple, once a library and now a symbol of reflection and grandeur, felt like the perfect subject to revisit through quiet mark-making.

Just finished a new oil painting inspired by the wild beauty of the North Coast of Northern Ireland — this one bathed in deep purples, moody skies, and rich, layered textures. The coastline here always speaks to something ancient and powerful, and in this piece, I leaned

Every spring, I return to painting magnolias in my studio—a ritual that began three years ago when I was grieving the loss of my dog. In those first brushstrokes, I found a way to process my sorrow, each petal holding a memory of our time together. Since then, painting magnolias has become a tradition, marking the arrival of spring and a quiet moment of remembrance. As I layer oil paint onto the canvas, I feel connected to that time, yet also reminded of the beauty in renewal.

Welcome at my artwork.

My name is Karolina, I am Polish, recently doing my art in Northern Irland, Belfast.

I am freelance artists trawling for an experience and influence, based in Belfast. I like to think that I create original and thought-provoking work, which may be aesthetically pleasing but it is shocking, or disruptive, through a variety of media.

My art is influenced by growing up in a place, where the past and modern crashed against each other. I did my study at a wonderful and historical city south of Poland, Krakow. That stays with my art when I am a focus on the spirit behind any subject. My art has been influenced by complicated and often difficult past carried by my surroundings and eventually by my unstopped travel because life for me is travel.

I specialize in warty of medium as watercolor, oil, acrylic and mixed media, and concentrate in particular on landscapes or abstract art, but enjoy work laterally across subjects, mediums and even disciplines to explore ideas in unexpected ways and make original connections.
