The Lemond Gallery was established in 2000 and is based in Bearsden Glasgow. The Lemond Gallery provides access to the leading Scottish Contemporary artists.

It specialises in contemporary on-canvas art from the leading Scottish painters from the four Scottish Art Schools. It also provides Art and Scottish Art education to its clients. We also provide development programmes for young artists.

Diageo Plc Scott Naismith commissions for the Johnnie Walker Wh**ky Experience in Edinburgh

WHAT DOES THIS TYPE OF COMMISSION TELL US?
The Diageo commission (five paintings) reflects an independent view and assessment of the importance of Scott Naismith’s work to Scotland.
 The paintings were Scott’s interpretation of the locations of five important Diageo Plc sites (1) the original JW Kilmarnock facility (2) Caol Ila Distillery, Islay (3) Clynelish Distillery, Highland (4) Cardhu Distillery, Speyside (5) Glenkinchie Distillery, Lowland.

(1) is exhibited at the Wh**ky Experience (2-4) are on display at the individual distilleries and (2-4) are also replicated in wallpaper at the Bothy Bar on the top floor of the Wh**ky Experience.
 It is testament to his acclaim/stature when a £19.6 Billion revenue (Year to 30 June 2026) company make this partnership selection. This partnership stands as a powerful endorsement of his creativity and market recognition on a global stage. We were very proud of this achievement and our representation of Scott.

His work is driven by ideas, concepts, and serious thought, not just by visual appearance. This deep thinking is the foundation of what makes his artistic approach unique. He is a force in modern contemporary art.

SCOTT NAISMITH
‘Yin Yang’
Saturday 10th October - Sunday 18th October 2026, 11am to 5pm daily

Scott explains Yin Yang -
‘Yin Yang is a circle split into two tear drop shapes, one dark with a light dot, one light with a dark dot. It says opposites aren’t enemies - they’re halves of one whole, each holding a seed of the other.
Yin yang protects against hubris. Hubris is rigidity. Balance is dynamic equilibrium - two forces that can only exist because the other is there.
Abstract painting does the same thing with paint. The composition has no subject to hide behind, so every mark is pure relationship - dark against light, gesture against void, accident against intention.
The intention of these paintings is to refuse the fantasy of a finished, one-sided truth and show that whatever force seems dominant - whether the explosive sky or the quiet land - already carries the seed of its counterpart. Mastery or certainty is always incomplete, because the opposite is already living inside what you think you fully understand.’
