We have provided a bin for the public at the bottom of Ferriby Hill for 6 years as a public service. However, the bin has no facility for recycling, particularly considering the new provisions that require food to be separated (yes, lots of half eaten grub is deposited).
Strictly the contents are classed as coming from a commercial source although we are a charity Disposal therefore presents that already unpleasant task of disposal as a real challenge for volunteers. Dog excrement, which we agree is properly disposed of there, is particularly unpleasant.
After consultation, TLC decided to remove the bin, with apologies to all users.
North Lincs Council cannot provide a bin on private land and has no plans for a public one as far as we know. Provision and collection it’s a task beyond Barton Baggers excellent service.
Sorry, when it’s gone its gone.
Please take your rubbish home now in that area, and continue to bag dog excrement.
