Sometimes a piece just needs to be taken outside to appreciate its true beauty ☀️

What an absolute corker this turned out to be, a true one of a kind commission for a very special client.

I am absolutely in L 💖 V E with how this one turned out!

I’m not entirely sure where that idea is going yet… but we trust the process 🫶🏼

Simple yet beautiful.

This piece was months in the making, the client wanted the piece to perfectly complement her interior decor.

We discussed colour variations, additional finishes… framed or unframed and this is where we finally settled.

A custom colour matched and mixed to compliment her already beautiful home.

There was a small stumbling block with the frame… all my frames are handmade to order from solid wood and I had asked for it to be pre coloured in a brown to match but unfortunately it arrived verging more on the mahogany side, after a little head scratch I re prepped the wood and finished it with the exact same colour that I used on the canvas itself and it turned out even better than the initial plan.

Here’s to happy mistakes and beautiful outcomes.

All set up and ready for a busy weekend, the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival, Portsoy is well underway already.

We have expanded the shop this weekend and taken over the Men’s Shed too, it’s filled with lots of extra beautiful handmade local crafts.

Pop along and have a browse, we are also outside of the ticket zone so you won’t have to pay to visit the shop if you’re not planning over visiting the festival 😄
