Hard at work on some small Matisse inspired images. Have felt drawn to these as this year life is all about change of direction and I will be moving house. Hope to finish several hand and machine collaged pieces for this autumn's exhibitions at Middleton Cheyney and Chipping Camden.

A wonderful evening in Aynho tonight, Peter Scrivener who was part of the Joe Loss band and was also classically trained, played saxophone and clarinet to a very appreciative audience of villagers. Beautiful music.

Went on great adventure yesterday evening. Took my suit case full of art and artefacts on a train from Banbury to Solihull to give a talk. 'A Thread Running Through,' the railway staff were amazing,( don't lose the ticket offices) it was a wonderful evening with the Solihull Creative textile group. I also learnt a lot as the audience also shared their stories with me.

Our Oxfordshire Artweeks Artists and Artisans have a great article in the Banbury Guardian. It all kicks off next friday evening 4pm to 8.30pm and daily 11am to 5pm until 21 May at the New Inn, Middleton Cheney, OX17 2ND. Lots to see and lovely lunches or tea and cake available too!

Join 9 talented Cotswold artist at the annual Artmix Christmas Fair set in the beautiful Town Hall Chipping Campden next weekend (19/20 Nov) You will find a fantastic selection of woodwork, jewellery, paintings, mixed media, textiles and ceramics and the artist who created them will be on hand to talk about their work and help you choose your Christmas gifts. Doors are open from 10-4pm and everyone is welcome including our 4 legged friends.

Image of a finished work by Carole Ann Harrington called 'Hares in a Lismannian Landscape'. She attended a hand stitch and fabric collage course I ran for 'Sew and Sews' in Greens Norton to create a Personal Landscape. It's very gratifying to see this great finished piece.

Now it's cooler I felt like doing something creative. These are 2 acrylic and oil pastel drawings on brown paper, which might be the basics for continuing my scroll ideas in mixed media and textile, but on a much bigger scale. Both inspired by Japanese style scrolls, but will be adapted for my own memory ideas. It's a new start, let's see where it takes me.

The Secret Postcard Show 2022 - OPENS this Friday 6-8.30pm - all welcome!
And then online here on Instagram from 8.45 ish pm.

There are many things that I truly love about this show!
I have to confess that it’s the highlight of my year here at the gallery - it fills my ♥️

One of the delights are the cards, notes and mini paintings that many of the artists pop in their packages and envelopes - many of which bring tears to my eyes.

This weekend, its going to be fab!
Yes it's going to be sunny and hot, but there's plenty of shade around the park under the trees or in the gazebos with the artists.
I'm on the archery lawn stand number 2 with the lovely Penny Varley Ceramics by my side and lou from 3 Blue Stars opposite.
