Great to see the museum in the Annandale Observer

We wanted the new look Annan Museum to give prominence to the surnames that appear time and again in the town's history.
We worked with Dumfries Women's Signwriting Squad to paint heraldic devices on the wall of the museum. This display aims to give recognition to the people and families who shaped the town over the centuries. Plus you can colour in your own mini-version if you want!
Visit Monday to Saturday 11-4.

The upstairs of Annan Museum may currently be closed to the public but new displays are in development.
It took a number of our team to carefully put this dolphin skeleton into its new display area. It will be a star object in a display about natural history in the Solway.
The dolphin was kindly donated to us after being found on a beach on the Solway. Its bones were carefully gathered before it underwent conservation to prepare it for display.
More creatures will be joining it soon!

Another year, another wonderful celebration of the Riding of the Marches in Annan.
We have a wall of AROM programmes in Annan Museum where you can vote for your favourite year and/or cover (and browse the old programmes).
A recent Programme of the Week was 1976 when the Planet of the Apes were involved. Wonder how long it will be for this year's programme to be voted Number 1?

Did you see the Annan Museum Riding of the Marches feature on ITV Border Life recently?
Fiona Armstrong visited the museum to see our impressive new AROM display in development and to speak with people involved in the ridings including Stuart Thompson and the museum's own JP!
