Read this link about plastics and micro plastics entering water courses and United Utilities and RSPB creating an environmental disaster in the Hawswater area. This follows on from my previous post about tree guards being washed down fell side stream in their hundreds

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3734804433406424&id=100006307121197

A new report published today has accused United Utilities and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) of ‘wasting millions of pounds of public money’ on land management schemes in the Lake District, resulting in environmental disasters.

The report found that a £3 million publicly funded tree planting project at the RSPB’s Haweswater reserve in Cumbria had resulted in many trees failing to grow, due to being planted incorrectly.

Furthermore, the report found that United Utilities and the RSPB ignored warnings from local communities that the scheme would fail before the money was wasted and that relations between the local communities and United Utilities and the RSPB are now at a near complete breakdown.

There's nothing like environmentally friendly tree planting on the fells. Let's litter the fellsides and the rivers with plastic whilst getting stock off the fells cos they really are environmental disasters. There were dozens of plastic tree guards being washed down this beck this morning, eventually ending up in Windermere 🙁🙁🙁

I am a professional hunting photographer but I don't mind if people post scans or copies of my work but would appreciate simple recognition. Something like ' here is one of Neil Salisbury's photos'. If they don't and people comment that it's a good picture, I usually respond by saying thank you! Apparently such responses can lead to you being suspended from said pages. Here's a case in point, I can only assume it's been scanned from my new book, that explains why its not very clear. Again I don't mind but at least acknowledge who took it in the first place

Witness was the first hound we ever walked for the Coniston. A lovely fell bitch who won many tickets at the summer shows. She was brought up at our pub in Lincolnshire, the Willoughby Arms at Little Bytham. She was Champion Coniston hound at Rydal in 2003 and 2004. Had this hand painted ceramic dish given to me by Claire and her mum after the first victory. Happy memories. There's a picture or two of her in my new book Snippets and Snaps.
