👻 We're curious. Would you actually come inside?

Northumberland Haunted Museum isn't a scare attraction.

We're a museum dedicated to paranormal history, folklore, unusual objects, strange stories and the experiences people have reported along the way.

And since opening, visitors have certainly given us a few more stories to add to that list… 👀

So tell us:

👻 PARANORMAL TEAMS... WE HAVE SOME SEPTEMBER DATES AVAILABLE.

Fancy investigating Northumberland Haunted Museum yourselves?

We're opening the museum after dark to paranormal teams who want to conduct their own investigation, use their own equipment and see what they experience inside the building.

And yes... you get access to the museum when the visitors have gone. 👀

Our remaining September dates are:
🔦 Friday 11 September
🔦 Saturday 12 September
🔦 Friday 18 September
🔦 Friday 25 September
🔦 Saturday 26 September

We've had unexplained footsteps, doors behaving strangely, furniture moving, voices, unusual equipment responses and plenty of experiences we still can't explain.

But we don't want you to take our word for it.

We want your team to investigate it for yourselves.

If you're part of a paranormal team and would like one of these dates, comment TEAM below or message us and we'll send you the details.

And paranormal investigators...

Which part of Northumberland Haunted Museum would YOU investigate first? 👀

☕ Could you read what your tea leaves are trying to tell you?

In less than a week, we're gathering around the table at Northumberland Haunted Museum for one of our smallest and most intimate workshops.

Tea Leaf Reading Workshop
📅 Thursday 10 September
🕯️ 7pm to 9pm
👻 Northumberland Haunted Museum, Amble
🎟️ Just 6 places available

You'll learn about the fascinating tradition of tasseography and start discovering how to interpret the shapes, symbols and stories left behind in the cup.

No experience needed. Just curiosity.

And because we deliberately keep our workshops tiny, there are only six people in the room.

At the moment, all six seats are still available.

So if you've been waiting for a sign to try something a little unusual... perhaps this is it. 🔮

Tickets are available through our events page.

Who would you bring with you?

👻 WE'RE IN LIVING NORTH!

This morning a copy of the October edition of Living North Magazine landed in our hands and we may have squealed a little bit. 😂🖤

Northumberland Haunted Museum has a beautiful feature inside called “Dead Good” and seeing our little museum across these pages feels rather surreal.

What started as an idea to create somewhere that would preserve Northumberland's haunted history, folklore and people's stories has somehow become THIS.

But the bit that means the most to us is seeing the reason behind the museum represented too.

“Every haunting has a heartbeat.”
This museum has never just been about ghosts.

It's about the people behind the stories.

The history of our county.

The folklore passed down through generations. The people who walk through our door and tell us something their grandmother once told them.

And hopefully, creating somewhere in Northumberland where those stories aren't forgotten.

A HUGE thank you to Living North for coming to see what we're building here in Amble and telling our story. 🖤

And thank YOU lot too.

You keep turning up, commenting, sharing our posts, visiting us, bringing us stories and generally encouraging our slightly bonkers idea of opening Northumberland's first haunted museum. 👻

Seeing it in an actual magazine makes it feel very real.

Who is going to grab a copy? 👀

👻 Paul from Haunted Harrogate didn't just bring us a spirit bell yesterday...

He brought THIS.

At first glance, it looks like an old wooden cabinet.

But wait until you see what's inside. 😳

We're going to show you later today.

Before we do though...

Would you open it?

YES 👀
ABSOLUTELY NOT 😳

And if you already know what you're looking at... don't spoil it. 🤫

Right, we have a question for the paranormal people tonight... 👻

You've been given the keys to Northumberland Haunted Museum.

It's midnight.

Nobody else is coming.

You have to spend the entire night inside alone.

You can take ONE piece of paranormal equipment with you.

That's it.

What are you taking? 👀

And before somebody says "my car keys"... they don't count. 😂

We're genuinely curious what everyone chooses.

Bonus question: would you actually stay until morning?

👻 Another absolute gem from Paul's visit today...

A piece of spirit photography.

There is something incredibly eerie about these old images.

Spjirit photography became associated with the nineteenth century Spiritualist movement, when photographs apparently showing the dead alongside the living fascinated believers and sceptics alike.

For some, they were evidence that death wasn't the end.

For others, clever photographic trickery.

And more than a century later, we're STILL arguing about photographs supposedly capturing ghosts. 😂

Paul from Haunted Harrogate brought this fascinating example in during his visit today and, naturally, Michele was completely obsessed with it.

What do YOU see when you look at this?

A fascinating piece of paranormal history?

Clever photographic manipulation?

Or something more? 👀

👻 We had a special visitor at Northumberland Haunted Museum today...

Paul from Harrogate Ghost Walk popped in to see us and, naturally, it wasn't long before the paranormal equipment came out. 😂

Paul brought along his spirit bell and decided to try it inside the museum.
So... did anyone decide to say hello? 🔔👀
Watch what happens and tell us what you think in the comments.

We love having other paranormal investigators visit, share their methods and experiment with the museum.

Every investigation adds another little piece to the story of this building and the objects inside it.

Thanks for visiting, Paul! 👻

Would you like to see us do more experiments with the spirit bell?

👻 OSCAR FAN ART IS NOW A THING... 🖤

We absolutely LOVE this drawing of our resident favourite, Oscar, created by the very talented Logan!

Honestly, when we opened Northumberland Haunted Museum, we never imagined one of our artefacts would end up with his own little fan club. 😂

Oscar has certainly become quite the character around here.

People ask about him, draw him, talk to him and some are considerably braver about standing next to him than others... 👀

A huge thank you to Logan for taking the time to create this for us. It will definitely be treasured at the museum. 🖤

Now we have a question...

Should we create an Oscar Fan Art wall in the museum? 👻🎨

Because we have a feeling this might not be the last one...
