The wonderful full moon this month is called “Worm Moon” . You may have seen it late on Sunday evening or yesterday and it will still be strong today.

Native American tribes wrote that the name Worm Moon refers to a different sort of “worm” beetle larvae that begin to emerge from the thawing bark of trees at this time

Moon halos are rings around the Moon and are caused when moonlight passes through thin clouds of ice crystals high in Earth’s atmosphere. As moonlight passes through the ice crystals, it is bent in a way similar to light passing through a lens

This lovely piece titled Moon Halo by artist .art is featured in our Spring show “ The Art of Spring”
It is 100 x 100 cm Acrylic on canvas ( framed)with gel and gold ink
We will be showing more pieces by Georgina and other artists in our group Spring show 11th-28th April Thursday-Sunday 11am -5pm

We also ship anywhere in the UK and internationally

I wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥳

I’m lucky enough to be spending New Years Day in the sunshine in the glorious Carribean. I’ve taken a break from the British weather for a couple of months and spending life on with my hubby.
We are spending life at anchor however I am getting reasonable signal which means I am able to work and plan the calendar for the rest of the year.

It’s going to be a full one!

The gallery is open as usual online - see you soon!

Just wanted to say a very Happy Christmas to all our visitors, clients and followers 🎄
It’s been an exciting year with shows , art fairs and workshops

We had a great fun in April in Cheltenham and September in Ascot

We have had our seasonal group shows at the gallery - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter

In the Summer we joined up with and hosted our big June show with an indoor show and an outdoor exhibition of sculptures - always a big hit!

We also held two successful workshops - a sculpture and a painting one.

We were blessed with glorious warm sunshine for the whole of that show

A special thanks to all our talented artists also 🥂 xx

The Christmas tree here is from Soufriere on the Island of St Lucia.
I’m spending Christmas in the warm this year as my husband sailed on the Arc sailing rally ( as you know ) across the Atlantic and so I have joined him .
I’m sure there will be many more pictures of our trip in the coming weeks.
It seems strange seeing all the Xmas decorations up in temperatures of 30 degrees however I’m not complaining as I’m a fair weather girl deep down 😉

Merry Christmas wherever you are! 🤶 🌲
Love Sue xx

Two beautiful works by Chloe Moncrieff in our WINTER SHOW

Peace _bankstudio54
Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
49.5 x 49.5cm
£450

“I cherish birds and have ended up with a menagerie around my studio as I paint. This of course impacts.
But I lean to doves particularly. My mum had some ceramic fantails in pride of place on our windowsill, I treasure them as a link to her. I’m drawing to them for their celestial attributes , a universal meaning for love and peace. Really important right now . They’re a weighty symbol.”

There are more than Wolves
Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
40 x 50 cm £475

“I find literature indirectly inspires me. From The Boy who Cried Wolf to Little Red Riding Hood, wolves play a lead role in Northern folk stories. They howl at the full moon, in Jungian terms they represent our instinctive nature.”

Come and see these and more of Chloe’s work in our Winter show on until Saturday. Open everyday 11am-5pm

All work is always available online

Three years ago today I opened the gallery in my home. It was such a great decision even though not the best timing - it was during Covid ( I’m trying to forget) and there were restrictions of course.
But life isn’t plain sailing is it . I started the business five years ago in November 2018 when the Brexit withdrawal agreement was drafted!!

A lot has happened in those years. We have had wonderful shows/ art fairs every season and in the Summer we open the garden for an outdoor show featuring many sculptures.

I know it’s tough for a lot of people at the moment however my mission has always been to make art accessible to all and in a relaxed and friendly environment.

There is nothing like a unique piece of work from a talented artist with its own story and interpretation.

We have work starting from as little as £10 - so there is something for everyone.

A huge thanks to all our supporters, collectors and followers.

I am also so lucky to be working with a talented bunch of artists 🥰

WINTER SHOW continues until Saturday December 9th
11-5pm . Wednesday- Sunday 🖼️

Love and thanks
Sue xx

Sculptures by Ian Marlow are always admired in our shows.

Inspired by nature , these pieces look equally good inside as well as outside .

The shimmering steel adapts to the changing light, creating a fluidity of form that sees his sculptures interact with their surroundings.

I don’t normally do many personal posts however I wanted to today as it’s a special day for my husband, Julian.
After many months, well years actually of planning and preparation and patience on my part( I hasten to add!!)
he is starting his journey today on sailing across the Atlantic with three dedicated friends as crew!
The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers
(ARC) starts in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and finishes 2700 nautical miles later in St Lucia. There are about 200 boats taking part in the race.
I shall be following all the way as a very proud “sailing widow”
As much as I love sailing and being on the boat , sailing across oceans with big seas and no sight of land is not for me.
For anyone interested here are more details

Have had a really busy couple of days picking up work and getting work delivered by our artists.
Tomorrow the hang starts ready for our Winter show next Saturday 25th November.

These gorgeous glass wings by Yanna Neame would make fabulous gifts and also be perfect for adding some home glamour at any time of the year!

Hanging Wings
Each piece is unique and handmade from Bullseye glass with dichroic.

I don’t think they will hanging around for long.

We are delighted to be featuring some of Naomi’s figurative pieces in the Winter Show

Naomi is inspired by the modern masters, her family and her interior surroundings. Her work features still life scenes with objects and artefacts from around her house, and figures, often portraits, within interior and still life settings. Her palette utilises bold colours layered upon one another, contrasting with the drawn patterns and blocks of colour on the paintings’ surface.

See You, Hear You, Feel You
Acrylic on Board
28.5 x 23.5cm

To see more of Naomi’s pieces and other art we are showing please pop in to our Winter show 25th November -9th December.

We have loads of exciting pieces - be inspired 🎄!

This dreamy piece by Corinna Button is featured in our Winter Show starting on 25th November

Everything about the way I work (both technique and subject) is motivated by the desire to reveal or “bring something to light.” Thus my process involves layering then scraping back, building then excavating; otherwise, peeling back layers to “carve out” and reveal something hidden beneath the surface.
It is through these painted, sculpted or printed figures that I wish to project recognizable aspects of human experience. I want to compel and to draw the viewer in for a closer look beyond the surface.

The Dreamer
Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
91.5 x 61 cm

Come and see her work in our WINTER SHOW 25th November- 9th December 11am-5pm
Open Wednesday-Sunday

Join us for our Drinks and Canapés at our Evening Opening Event on Saturday

So pleased that we are showing work by Julie Allen in our Winter show.

Her work is always energetic and atmospheric.

Working on canvas, Julie builds up each painting layer by layer, using oil paint, pencil drawing and stitching as well as more industrial materials The marks and forms emerge during the process of painting. By tuning into the feeling of the painting, she lets the painting develop over a period of time.
Her subject matter is often related to mortality, sexuality and the vulnerability of the human body. Although her work has a human presence, the forms she uses are not human forms as such. They relate to the body rather that representing it directly.

Between Fading Lines
Mixed Media on Canvas
100 x 100 cm

Our Winter show starts on 25th November.
