Dark Bloom

04/06/2025

Dark Bloom is a commanding 90x60 cm abstract acrylic painting that evokes the raw, alchemical beauty of decay and renewal. Swirls of ochre, burnt umber, and deep obsidian clash and flow with smoky greys and hints of tarnished gold, suggesting a landscape where natural forces reclaim what once was. The textured forms feel almost floral, yet erupt like geological processes — volcanic, urgent, and organic. There’s an elemental tension here, as though fire and earth, time and transformation, are caught in eternal dialogue. This work invites prolonged viewing, with every glance revealing new forms: petals, smoke plumes, ancient rocks, or cosmic clouds. It’s as much a meditation as it is a statement piece, ideal for collectors seeking both depth and drama. Medium: Acrylic on canvas Size: 90 x 60 cm

Title: “Split Shores”

Description:
Split Shores is a vibrant, playful mixed-media diptych that captures the joy and contrast of beach life from two perspectives — land and sea. On the left, the golden sands are brought to life with charming miniature accessories: flip flops, beach towels, parasols, lifebuoys, and a rowboat, evoking the carefree atmosphere of a summer holiday. On the right, deep blue textured panels mimic the ocean’s surface, dotted with tiny swimmers, boats, a lighthouse, and a surfer riding a cheerful wave. Together, the two sides speak of adventure, relaxation, and the universal love for the seaside.

The textures are deliberately bold and tactile, with the use of acrylic and 3D objects giving the work a whimsical, almost storybook charm. This piece invites viewers to travel into a diorama-like world where simple summer joys are celebrated in miniature.

Description:
Silhouettes of Serenity captures the meditative stillness of a tropical landscape at dusk. Bold, black silhouettes of palm trees and lush undergrowth stretch across a textured background of warm, earthy tones—ochre, burnt sienna, gold, and pale silver—reminiscent of a setting sun filtering through dense foliage. The vertical stripes add a rhythmic quality, evoking the passage of time and light through the forest. The heavily textured layers lend depth and a tactile presence, making the viewer feel immersed in a dreamlike wilderness.

This piece is both grounding and energizing—a perfect statement for spaces that seek a balance between nature’s calm and artistic boldness.

The Colour Argument Curatorial Description:

“The Colour of Argument” is a striking abstract triptych that captures the emotional interplay of memory, identity, and transformation through color and texture. Each panel of the piece presents a dialogue between opposing forces—chaos and order, vibrancy and decay, presence and absence.
• Left Panel (Pink & Cyan): A bold magenta figure, almost animalistic in shape, emerges from layers of electric cyan. This segment evokes the spontaneity of childhood imagination or the elusive nature of memory—vivid yet fragmented.
• Center Panel (Gold, Green & Red): The heart of the triptych burns with ochre and is cooled by mossy greens. It feels organic, almost forest-like, as if nature is pushing through the boundaries of structure. This central section serves as a grounding force, offering balance between the two extremes.
• Right Panel (Red & Cyan): Violent, raw strokes of crimson bleed into patches of cyan, resembling peeling paint on weathered metal. It suggests erosion, time, and emotional intensity—the remnants of what once was. The rough textures and spontaneous layering of acrylic paint invite the viewer to explore the tension and harmony between each color story. As a whole, the work reads like a three-part poem—each stanza adding depth to the next. Price: £450
Here’s the rationale behind the pricing:
• Original Triptych: A multi-panel work adds complexity and visual impact, commanding a higher price than a single canvas
