Hello Henry Jones Museum Gardeners,
The weather is picking up nicely after one of the coldest winters we’ve had in a long time. But this lovely sunshine is just the ticket to make you feel like getting out and about and doing a bit of gardening. There have been some amazing & significant changes made in the HJM space, so it’s a big thank you, diolch yn fawr to all of you, and I hope you are all feeling ready to make some more!
As usual with gardening there is always plenty more to do, including tidying the borders, planting seeds, planting rhubarb, wild herbs and a bit of weeding to get on with which never sounds very glamorous but can be a very mindful practice….
So when shall we meet again, well below are a few dates, including some evening dates that hopefully even if you can’t make all of them, you’ll be able to join us at one of them.
We are also going to organise a Plant Giveaway Day on April 26th so we’ll be planting lots of veg & herb seeds to create plants to giveaway to people who come and visit us at the garden and see what we have been doing and perhaps give us a hand. We can also have a sunflower seed planting table for children.
Group Visit
There is also plans to have a trip to Hafodunos Hall Garden in Llangernyw to collect seeds and cuttings but more about that when we know a date and time.

A huge thank you to children of Ysgol Bro Vernyw for their work again today on our garden! The beans and peas you planted before Christmas are coming on well. Lots of ideas for next time we are meeting in March!

Move over Sir Henry there's a new generation of shoe designers in Llangernyw! Ceramic shoes made by Years 5 and 6 with pottery artist Pea Restall funded by UKSPF Community Led Local Development. WONDERFUL WORK CHILDREN!

Plannu pys a ffa gyda Blwyddyn 4 a letus a roced gyda Blwyddyn 3 hefo Celia Williams Incredible Edibles. Hyn yn rhan o brosiect garddio yr Amgueddfa. Bydd y hadau mewn ty gwydr dros Dolig wedyn mi fyddan yn ol yn yr Ysgol I wneud mwy!
Planting peas and beans with Ayesr 4 and lettuce and rocket with Year 3 with Celia Williams Incredible Edibles. This is part of the Museum’s garden project. The seeds will be in a greenhouse over Christmas then we’ll be back in the school for more work. Diwylliant Conwy Culture

Hello Henry Jones Gardeners,
It looks like the weather is not going to be gardening weather tomorrow. Storm Bert is going to make sure of that. I did a quick visit on 21st Nov to see if the snow had done any damage, and the Nero Kale was peeping up through the snow and so we could be lucky and still have a bit of surviving veg.
I am going to reschedule the gardening date for November 30th as according to BBC weather Llangernyw will be bathed in some winter sunshine, which will be much better for gardening.
I think we will also cover the crops with either fleece or a double layer of fine netting to give them some protection.
We should also try and come up with a name for the project. Initially it was thought it might be Bwyd Bendigedig Llangernyw, then Henry Jones Museum project however you may have some ideas yourselves?
So next gardening session is Saturday 30th November 12.30 - 2.00pm.
