THE DICKIES from Los Angeles are in Scotland this week, for a Glasgow gig on Saturday and an Edinburgh gig tonight. No Aberdeen gig this time, and probably ever again... but I got wunnerin', when did they make their first North-East appearance?

They first played Aberdeen on Monday 6 November 1978, at the Capitol Theatre with THE JAM and PATRIK FITZGERALD. doors were at 7:30pm and tickets cost between £1.50 and £2.50 depending if you were on the stalls or on the balcony.
the local paper, the EE, sent a reviewer who was infatuated with Paul Weller's set, happy with Patrik's performance and nae so keen on Leonard Graves Philips' gig...

KORPSE, Aberdeen's greatest death metal band ever, maybe even Scotland's?

1986: Aberdeen: Sid and Fluf start their first band
1990: KORPSE formed
1991: KORPSE release their first demo
1992 (June): supported GOREFEST and NECROSANCT at the Glasgow Cathouse, then sited at Hollywood Studios on Brown Street
1992 (July): benefit gig for Telethon Appeal at Bonkers Nightclub, Aberdeen with INEXTREMIS, CEREMENT, ONE GOD UNIVERSE, FESTR and MIGHTY HUMAN GENERATOR
1993: two track 7" release, "X" came out, self-released by band
1994: first album, "Pull The Flood" released
1994 (Dec): KORPSE tour with Welsh metal band ACRIMONY, incl the Palace Club Abdn & a gig in Montrose
1995 (Jun): KORPSE play a benefit gig for Scottish AIDS Rock at the Palace Club with One God Universe, Tinderbox and others
1996 (Jan-Feb): recording of their second album, "Revirgin" in Bideford-on-Avon, England
1996 (?): KORPSE release "Revirgin"
1997: KORPSE disband
2005: posthumous discography CD album "Mirror Distance" released on Aphelion Records
2012: two reunion gigs, at Aberdeen Moorings Bar on the Friday and Elgin Flanagan's on the Saturday. one mental weekend was had!
