La série photographique PAPER SHELTER a été réalisée entre 2023 et 2024 sous l’influence de la guerre en Ukraine. Elle raconte une histoire personnelle de l’adolescence vécue dans l’émigration – la perte du foyer, de l’école et de l’entourage proche.

La série explore le thème du passage à l’âge adulte, montrant le désir de dissimuler son visage et de cacher ses émotions. Elle parle de solitude, de transformations intérieures et extérieures, d’incertitude, de sentiment de suspension, de quête de soutien et de découverte de soi dans une nouvelle réalité.

Ces photographies permettent de suivre visuellement le chemin qui mène d’une répression émotionnelle totale vers une acceptation progressive, une prise de conscience de soi, une compréhension de ses propres limites, de son parcours, de sa féminité et de ses désirs.

En 2024, deux amies ont également souhaité participer au projet, lui donnant une dimension internationale. À travers la photographie, elles ont cherché à aborder des thèmes qui leur sont chers : « la féminité présente en chaque homme » et « la sensation d’être soi, ici et maintenant ».

Sheryl M (Sheree) Rasmussen - Sparkle: The Spirit in Everything

Sparkle: The Spirit in Everything.

"My textile work explores the shimmering edge between exhuberance and grace- where surface beauty meets spirit.

Using luminous fabrics and layered textures, I invite viewers to look beyond decoration and discover vitality within the material itself. Textile art, once dismissed as "women's work," has gained new ground as a medium of power, nuance and meaning. I create large scale tapestry-like hangings to convey this."

Sheree Rasmussen is a Canadian textile artist whose work explores the emotional and spiritual presence of fabric. Her influences ranging from the traditions of the Balkans and Middle East, wall rugs of Bedouin tents, modernist paintings, and contemporary quilts of the American Gees Bend quilters..

Sheree Rasmussen grew up in Toronto, Canada, one of the most mult-cultural cities in the world, and these merging influences have shaped her. Drawing on traditions often considered domestic or decorative, she transforms shimmering materials into contemporary reflections on connection, vitality and beauty.

Her artistic process is textile based, her earliest artistic influence was her mother, who sewed fabulously coloured outfits. Dance training imprinted on her an ability to create patterns through movement, that feeling has been transposed from movement through space to the movement of colour, shape and pattern.

Being a garden designer for many years has also influenced her work.The word “paradise” comes from the Persian word meaning walled garden, a perfect little universe. The garden is a symbol of unity and wholeness, and a well designed garden has the effect of creating harmony within.

Rasmussen is an award winning graduate of The Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Canada, and has exhibited across Canada and internationally, and currently divides her tiime between Ontario and Strasbourg.

- City silhouettes and inner monologues.

Yann ARGENTIN: contemporary painter, born in 1971.

In the discreet turmoil of cities, at the crossroads of neon lights and shifting shadows, Yann Argentin captures suspended moments and transforms the banalities of everyday life into poetry. His art, deeply rooted in cinema and photography, sculpts light like a director shaping his work.

The streets stretch out in a mysterious mist, the cafés echo with untold stories. Women are omnipresent in his work, like muses who give soul to unfinished stories. Through a fogged-up window, that lost gaze, accompanied by a wisp of smoke, becomes a fading silhouette...

Each canvas invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the scene and weave their own story.

Influenced by Edward Hopper, Yann Argentin develops a more modern language, playing with contrasts and perspectives to capture urban intimacy. His strokes draw moments of solitude charged with possibilities, where the viewer immediately grasps and recognises themselves.

In his Akoun series, exhibited in France and China, Yann Argentin does not simply paint pictures: he creates fragments of life, where everyone can project their emotions, memories and dreams still waiting to be realised.
