I was the Art Director at Houghton Mifflin, his publisher in the 80’s. The Publicity Director was a friend of mine, and she brought him into my office to meet me. As he was signing my copy of his book, The Blood of Abraham, I said “A lot of us think Amy is doing great things down there in Washington.” She had just been arrested protesting outside the South African Embassy. And as he stood up to leave, he kissed me!
