Galerie MOLIN CORVO

Galerie MOLIN CORVO Galerie Molin Corvo was opened in 2013. The founder of this contemporary art gallery, Roberta Molin Corvo

Always attentive to communication, which she made a profession of, and after being a long course artists’ agent, Roberta Molin Corvo decided to open a gallery of her own and, building on her wealth of experience in the media world, she’s faces environments yet little explored by the traditional art market. The gallery, in fact, is not enclosed by walls, but by strings of machine code: essentially

online, in the non-place of the internet, the most suitable “place” where to promote the art she loves. What is going to vary from time to time, however, according to the character of the work to be exhibited, will be the locations of the exhibitions, in France as in Italy and abroad.

“In this project, that I have composed as a path, I tried to represent the struggle every human must face every day in order to reach and maintain their freedom.
The struggle between those that are external impositions that, at various ages and in various stages of our lives we have been assigned to different figures and reality, and the internal drives that we were born with and that ancestrally accompany mankind in its evolution. It is given as assumed the fact that, for his own evolution, man must be able to mediate between these two aspects of life: personal fulfillment (consisting of various factors such as the sentimental, the sexual, the business and economic) and what that the society that surrounds it (starting from the first idea of society set up by the mother/infant up to the concept of global society) considers as its values. It may happen that, in the course of these mediations, and because of the most various events, the man cannot find a balance (whether related to the overall situation or to a particular situation), and then he finds himself unbalanced. [...] And that is why I conceived this project, "dividing" it in three sections: the first section consists of the crosses that go to symbolise the sense of guilt, a second section in which these "exploded cubes" want to represent the “unsuppressibleness” of joy, a third and final section that consists of detailed photographs of the objects of the first two sections, printed on polymer photo mounted on aluminum foil with a mirror finish, so that the person who observes this mirrors can see himself reflected in those details and deepen with the image of himself, what is the struggle between imposition and instinct in his being.” . .

“As a woman, I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of arriving in a city unknown to me and to experience it and explore it through the lens of my camera. As I first reached Shanghai the project 24h was born, a non stop journey passing from night to dawn and again to the following night.”

Bruna Rotunno

Through her images, Bruna Rotunno tells the story of an untold Shanghai, a cracked and reconstructed Shanghai, contradictory and contrasting, always moving and populated by visionary and surreal faces. The artist moves through the city alone, chasing light and shadows, so as to transform the architectural space in a haven for body and thought. Through her photos she tells of emotional constructions and of the identity of an ancient population extended towards the future.

Patrizia Ferri

Shanghai 24h is a solo exhibition, part of Made in China and was held at Triennale Milano in 2010. . .
