✨Picasso’s encounter with the Madoura pottery workshop in Vallauris in 1946 marked the beginning of one of the most fruitful chapters of his career. Invited by Suzanne and Georges Ramié to experiment with ceramics, the artist discovered a medium that allowed him to extend his pictorial language through clay, slip, engraving and glazes. Over nearly twenty-five years, this collaboration produced more than 600 designs issued in editions by Madoura, establishing ceramics as an essential part of his oeuvre.
Created in 1951, *The Flute Player* embodies this creative freedom.
