ENTRE DEUX — Fredj Cohen × Seung-Hwan Kim
Different, yet united by the same quest.
ENTRE DEUX brings together two artists from different cultures, generations, and artistic traditions, creating a dialogue between painting and sculpture, memory and nature, matter and light.
Fredj Cohen’s densely layered paintings explore memory, time, wounds, and vitality. His human figures, Golems, and Totems connect personal experience with collective memory, while light becomes a symbol of hope, community, and the invisible forces that sustain life.
Seung-Hwan Kim transforms structures inspired by roots, leaves, and flowing water into organic sculptures in stainless steel and bronze. Their reflective surfaces incorporate light, landscape, and the viewer, revealing the rhythms of birth, growth, disappearance, and regeneration.
While Cohen searches for light within rough, accumulated matter, Kim uses light and reflection to uncover the invisible structures of life. In the space “between” their distinct artistic worlds, ENTRE DEUX invites us to reconsider the relationships between humanity and nature, the individual and the community, and the visible and the unseen.
