Archaeology encompasses not only the discoveries made but also the individuals involved in those discoveries.

On 30 October, the International Council of Museums International Committee for Museums and Collections of Archaeology and History (ICOM ICMAH) will host a workshop focusing on the Role of Maritime Sports in the Preservation of Underwater Archaeology. As part of the ICMAH Sports in Museums Working Group Activities, you are cordially invited to participate in this engaging workshop, which will take place during the ICMAH Annual Conference in Zadar, Croatia.

“Exploring the Depths – The Inspirational Journey of Maritime Archaeology” Preserving The Underwater Cultural Heritage Collection Within History And Archaeological Museums

Date: October 28-30, 2026 Venue: Zadar, Croatia

This event will be organized in collaboration with ICOM Croatia, the International Centre for Underwater Archaeology (ICUA), the Museum of Ancient Glass (MAS), the Archaeological Museum in Zadar (AMZD), the Department of Archaeology at the University of Zadar (ZARH), and The Camille Jullian Centre for Historical and Archaeological Research, a laboratory of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS).
