WICM Womens International Club Méditerranée We offer friendship, mutual support and cultural exchange through our monthly meetings, group activities. "Building bridges, Jeter des ponts".

What's on at the cinema?
Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 26 August – 1 September
Just two new films this week, The Dog Stars, a Ridley Scott post apocalyptic film focussed on a pilot living a solitary existence following a major pandemic who follows a mysterious signal of hope; not quite new- Samson and Delilah, an award winning Australian film (2009) about a pair of aboriginal teenagers who steal the community car and go to Alice springs where the girl sees her dot paintings selling for thousands more than she sold them for and is kidnapped by white teens. It is a complex portrait of what it means to be Australian.
True Romance is the golden oldie (1993) and continuing are La Fin d’Oak Street, L’Odysee, Oklahoma Honey, Spiderman and Insidious. Hopefully a better selection after the rentrée!

Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 19 – 25 August.
Three new films this week – Oklahoma honey, a neo western crime thriller about a musician (Matthew McConaughey) who wants to reconnect with his stepdaughter, but the honey business gets in the way – who knew it was so cutthroat? Mutiny – a thriller with Jason Statham as a stowaway escaping a framed murder charge; and Insidious part 6, a horror continuing the franchise about a supernatural realm.
Continuing are La Fin d’oak Street (a whole street is moved to another time and place), Spiderman, the latest in the franchise, and the Odyssey,

What's on at the cinema?
Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 12-18 August
New Films are: Undertone, a horror where two teenagers run a podcast on horror and supernatural occurrences; Juste pour une nuit (One night only) a romantic comedy which is set in a society where premarital s*x is permitted only for one night; La Fin d’Oak Street – a scifi where suburban Oak Street is transported by a cosmic event to a mysterious world full of dinosaurs and dangers. Continuing are Spiderman, the Odyssey and On appelait Robin du Bois.
A plein air showing of Michael is at the Ancient cave cooperative-Octon in Clermont l’Herault
And the golden oldie is Back to the Future. So something for nearly everyone this week.

No new films this week. Continuing are Le Passage - L’Odyssee – very long but very watchable – Spiderman – fun, but his stunt doubles really get knocked about! –and - I want your s*x a comedy erotic thriller. Scarface is the golden oldie.

Sally has offered to host the next Sucré Salé lunch at 12h30 on Monday 31st August.

This time, after the success of the Greek themed get together, will be an Italian theme!! If you are able to come, please let Sally know by Thursday 20th. She will then email all participants with the list of food people have already suggested with an opportunity for others to suggest what they would like to bring. That way would alleviate the possibility of duplicate dishes!!

Maximum 10 - first come, first served.

For those of you have not come before, everyone brings a dish to share and Sally will provide drinks, cutlery, plates, seating etc etc.

Sally lives in Roujan - she looks forward to welcoming everyone.

What's on at the cinema?
Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 29 July- 4 August
Three new films – Sur la route d’Omaha – two young children are woken by their father and bundled into a car because their home has been foreclosed in this sensitive road trip movie; Spiderman brand new day – the next in the spiderman franchise, lots of action and adventure; and I want your s*x, an erotic comedy drama that is described as an uninhibited, audacious examination of s*xuality and desire that leaves you wanting more.
Continuing are L’Odyssee – the very long but very watchable film that Musk wants to ake as historically accurate – were there really giants, sirens and Cyclops?? Also continuing is Le Passage. Golden oldie revivals are The Thing and the Grudge – both horror.

What's on at the cinema?
Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 22 – 28 July.
New films include Vaiana (Moana) a live action version of the Disney film with Dwayne Johnson with hair!, In Waves, an animated film about a young couple who love surfing and have to face many trials in life when one of them becomes ill. This uses the original illustrations from a graphic magazine so looks a bit blocky compared with recent animations.
The golden oldie is Forrest Gump – that should have us running to the cinema. Continuing are Le Passage a moving story of a refugee’s flight, L’Odyssee – very long, very gory but very well done, and Kill Bill the whole bloody affair with a similar body count to L’Odyssee, but 2 hours longer! Also continuing is Disclosure Day.

Sucré Salé lunch

Sally has offered to host the next Sucré Salé lunch at 12h30 on Monday 27th July.

This time - as a one-off - will be a bit different. It will be a Greek theme!! If you can come, please let Sally know by Monday 20th. Here are the offerings in VO (English) for the week 8-14 July.
New films are: Le Passage – a film charting a refugee’s journey to freedom and safety from wartorn Syria. Also called ‘the stranger’s case’. Evil Dead: Burn is the next in the horror franchise. Revived and reworked is Kill Bill the Tarantino masterpiece with one of the highest body counts in any film has now joined parts 1 and 2 to create the Whole Bloody Affair. Another golden oldie is Top Gun with an incredibly young looking Tom Cruise. Supergirl and Backrooms continue
