Roger Morton – Rétrospective photographique
La Tza Tza Tzu Galerie est fière de présenter « Les Immortels », une rétrospective exceptionnelle et rare consacrée à l’œuvre de Roger Morton, photographe néo-zélandais majeur de la scène artistique, musicale et historique du XXe siècle.
Collaborateur de Rock & Folk et Time Out, il a immortalisé la scène musicale londonienne des années 1960 à 1980, capturant concerts, artistes et figures devenues légendaires.
Parmi les œuvres présentées figurent notamment Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Andy Warhol, Led Zeppelin, Blondie, Motörhead, Steven Berkoff, Elton John, et bien d’autres.
Photographe de théâtre reconnu, il a également documenté les arts de la scène avec une sensibilité rare.
En 1967, son séjour à Hong Kong le place au cœur des tensions entre mouvements communistes prochinois et administration britannique, donnant naissance à un témoignage photographique exceptionnel et unique de cette période historique.
À travers une sélection de tirages et d’archives, les tirages sur papier d'Art ont été réalisés par Frédéric Drouet, à partir des négatifs et archives originales de Roger Morton. « Les Immortels » propose ainsi une plongée unique et exceptionnelle dans un parcours entre musique, théâtre et photojournalisme.

Roger Morton – Retrospective Exhibition
The Tza Tza Tzu Gallery is proud to present “The Immortals”, a rare and exceptional retrospective dedicated to the work of Roger Morton, a New Zealand–born photographer and a major figure of the artistic, musical, and historical scenes of the 20th century.
A contributor to Rock & Folk and Time Out, he captured the vibrant London music scene of the 1960s to the 1980s, photographing concerts, artists, and iconic figures who have since become legendary.
Featured works include Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Andy Warhol, Led Zeppelin, Blondie, Motörhead, Steven Berkoff, Elton John, and many others.
A respected theatre photographer, he also documented the performing arts with rare sensitivity.
In 1967, his stay in Hong Kong placed him at the heart of the tensions between pro-Chinese communist movements and the British administration, resulting in an exceptional and unique photographic testimony of this pivotal historical moment.
The prints in this exhibition have been produced by Frédéric Drouet, from Roger Morton’s original negatives and archives. Through a curated selection of works, “The Immortals” offers a unique and exceptional journey across music, theatre, and photojournalism.

De Tza Tza Tzu Galerie is verheugd “The Immortals” te presenteren, een uitzonderlijke en zeldzame retrospectieve gewijd aan het werk van Roger Morton, een in Nieuw-Zeeland geboren fotograaf en een belangrijke figuur binnen de artistieke, muzikale en historische scènes van de 20e eeuw.
Als medewerker van Rock & Folk en Time Out legde hij de bruisende Londense muziekscene van de jaren 1960 tot 1980 vast, met concerten, artiesten en iconische figuren die inmiddels legendarisch zijn geworden.
Onder de tentoongestelde werken bevinden zich onder andere Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Andy Warhol, Led Zeppelin, Blondie, Motörhead, Steven Berkoff, Elton John, en vele anderen.
Als erkend theaterfotograaf documenteerde hij ook de podiumkunsten met een zeldzame gevoeligheid.
In 1967 bracht zijn verblijf in Hongkong hem midden in de spanningen tussen pro-Chinese communistische bewegingen en het Britse bestuur, wat leidde tot een uitzonderlijk en uniek fotografisch getuigenis van deze historische periode.
De tentoonstelling toont een selectie afdrukken en archiefmateriaal, waarbij de afdrukken zijn gerealiseerd door Frédéric Drouet, op basis van de originele negatieven en archieven van Roger Morton. “The Immortals” biedt zo een unieke en uitzonderlijke reis door muziek, theater en fotojournalistiek.
✨ Evoluerende en uitzonderlijke tentoonstelling: vanwege de omvang van het archief worden de getoonde werken gedurende de hele looptijd regelmatig vernieuwd, wat bij elk bezoek een andere en nieuwe ervaring biedt.
