"What struck me about Lietonen’s painting is her ability to compose images. She has a feel for the two-dimensional picture plane and its inherent potentials and limitations. The paintings have a value perspective, which holds their emphasis and meaning in clear, simple symbols, proportion, and position. She uses a narrow, predetermined set of components that she positions in such a way that a relationship of tension arises, not just with each other, but with the whole picture surface.

This fascinating interplay is reinforced by the way that Lietonen works with a diffuseness or a loosening of the contours. This blurredness evokes a divide; it is as if she has painted the distance between the objects in the picture, which then, like magnetic attraction and repulsion, both pushes apart and pulls together", curator Markus Åström writes about Eeva Lietonens exhibit 𝘞𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘳.

Eeva Lietosen 𝘞𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘳 näyttely on auki Sinnessä koko kesän, aina ti–su klo 12–17, 16.8. asti.

Näyttelyn nimeä Wavefolder on inspiroinut samanniminen ääniprosessori, jota käytetään äänisynteesissä siniaaltojen taittamiseen. Aallon taittuminen antaa “puhtaalle” sävelelle harmonioita ja sointivärin – se saa oman äänen tai muuttuu ääneksi. Erilaiset ihmisen ja luonnon aallonpituudet, sekvenssit ja rytmit ovat olleet läsnä näyttelyyn liittyvässä ajatustyössä, hitaista geologisista muutoksista ja vuodenaikojen kierrosta aina ruumiin vuorokausirytmeihin tai tunteiden aaltoiluun.

Förra veckan öppnade vi Eeva Lietonens utställning 𝘞𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘳 på Sinne. Utställningen visas fram till 16.8 och Sinne har öppet hela sommaren (endast midsommaren 19–21.6 stängt).

"Med sin nya separatutställning 𝘞𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘳 ser Eeva Lietonen på måleriet och målningen som en plats för rörelse. I sina starkt materialdrivna arbeten lyfter Lietonen fram bildens tillkomst som en fysisk lägesändring av material och media och att den färdiga bilden sedan är ett tillstånd som har potentialet att kommunicera en annan form av rörelse. I sina senaste målningar har Lietonen arbetat fram en instabilitet och en skevhet som utstrålar en naturlig och mänsklig värme. Med självgjorda oljefärger och fresco framkallar Lietonen ett läge av tyst väntande spänning", skriver kurator Markus Åström.
