Marja-Liisa Torniainen Marja-Liisa Torniainen : Sunnuntai rakennustyömaalla 1., 2019, 59 x 42 cm
Torniainen’s works available from the printshop are united by the colour yellow. The first three images date from the construction period of the Vuores residential area, and the last two are from the Finn-Match factory (Tikkutehdas) from the time it served as a hub for graffiti artists and the location for many photoshoots. Vuores has been built for several years, and a residential building has risen on the site of the Tikkutehdas, which, as far as the photographer knows, has not yet been completed.

The photograph is part of an extensive series depicting Finland’s national landscapes, which the photographer captured between 2000 and 2002. Images from the series have been used in their book The Finnish National Landscape and exhibited in Finland and France. It was photographed with a Hasselblad camera on colour negative film, and printed by the photographer in 2003.
Liina Aalto-Setälä : Päivännäkemä III, 2023, 12 x 9 cm
Aalto-Setälä’s anotypes are made with plant dyes and sunlight. Her work explores the emotional connection between humans and the environment through old stories, viewed from the perspective of contemporary people.
