The Museo has a rather unusual artifact on display in the Militaria section.
It's a small silver filigree bon bon dish, so why? I hear you ask.
The small dish belonged to a famous Norwegian-Swedish actress, a beautiful, talented and very brave lady, Sonja Wigert.
During WW2 she was recruited to spy for the Swedish intelligence who were concerned that they would invaded by
the N***s.
She was sent to Norway to spy on high ranking German officers including Josef Terboven, the Riechskommissar of occupied Norway.
She became a double agent, putting herself in grave danger if she had been discovered and she became very close to Terboven in an effort to obtain vital information.
She was also passing information to other allied intelligence services.
Unfortunately she was seen as a N**i collaborator by many Swedish and Norwegian people.
She died in 1980 at the age of 66, broken hearted because of the accusations against her.
She had moved to live with relatives in Alfas del Pi ,Alicante Province on the Colonia Escandinavia urbanisation, where she had many friends.
We moved to Alfas del Pi some years after her death, living very close to the house where she had lived.
Our neighbours were an elderly Norwegian couple who had been close friends of hers ,they had also been part of the Norwegian Resistance.
I spent many hours talking to them ,and learnt so many interesting facts about Sonja and life during N**i occupation.
It was at this time the Silver dish and other artefacts came into my possession, I promised that I would take care of them and try to tell the true story about Sonja.
The dish is inscribed with Sonja's name and it was presented to her in Berlin during the war.
Eventually, in 2005 ,25 years after her death the Swedish Intelligence Agency opened their files on Sonja and she was posthumously vindicated.
The photographs shown are original photographs taken during the N**i occupation of Norway.

Museo de Gordon has many different exhibits based mainly on social history from pre history to modern times.
Many of the exhibits are beautiful memories of past eras, whilst some are from the many dark times.
Featured here are items from those dark days.
I make no excuses for showing these items ,and yes they are part of a distasteful time, however I believe that everyone has the right to view them
I personally do not have any interest in the ideology behind any of the museum exhibits, but they are important historic artefacts.
The sinister dark leather coat is typical of uniform worn by WW2 Gestapo and other organizations and later during the Cold War by the Stasi.
The coat is of high quality and usually made from heavy cowhide or horsehide.
The steel helmet is typical of the style worn by WW2 German forces and Fire service etc., this example was located in Berlin.
The bayonet is a K98 model, 1943, made to be attached to a Ma**er rifle or to be used in trench warfare in close combat .

At Museo de Gordon we also have a small 'Secret Garden' for visitors to spend some relaxing moments in.
The neighbouring building was originally a to***co drying warehouse and I can tell you some interesting facts about it.
We await your visit.. 👍

Museo de Gordon is a small social history museum displaying many interesting items from prehistoric to modern times.
The exhibits include prehistoric stone tools, Roman and Byzantine artefacts.
And many more displays including militaria, Dirndl wear, Victorian clothing, mid century clothing and ceramics, lace and needlework, fossils, minerals tropical shells and much more.
The collection was started over 70 years ago and we add new exhibits every week.
We are situated in a lovely inland village called Salar, in Granada Province, Andalusia which is also the home of a recently discovered Roman Villa.
Because we receive many communications from interested people living in different countries around the world we have decided to create an 'online' museum.
So soon we will start showing selected items with descriptions and photos regularly.
If you have a particular interest please let us know.
And if you are able to visit the museum personally we are available most days and times, please contact the museum to arrange a mutual time.
