Originally designed in 1983, the sculpture is based on Knížák’s furniture edition Landscape (1976) in which he used the limitless shapeability of plastic materials to create an artificial interior landscape fulfilling all functions. The artist’s interest in interior design and its functions stems from his psychological and aesthetic reflections. The interior, too, should be in action, permanent change, facilitating communication, aesthetic experience, activating our spirit and perception. The artist sees it as vital to gain a real artistic experience with the ordinary aspects of life and our daily needs.
