Cuando cae la tarde en Haití, el cielo se vuelve una ceremonia. En «Anochecer en Port au Prince» la ciudad respira despacio mientras los últimos naranjas se apagan sobre los tejados y el azul de la noche empieza a ocupar su lugar. El atardecer, en el arte caribeño, es una metáfora de calma y espiritualidad: el momento en que el día entrega su memoria. When evening falls in Haiti, the sky becomes a ceremony. In "Nightfall in Port-au-Prince" the city breathes slowly while the last oranges fade over the rooftops and the blue of night begins to take their place. In Caribbean art, the sunset is a metaphor for calm and spirituality: the moment the day hands over its memory. We close the week with this painted pause. What does this sunset say to you?

In many festive scenes of Haitian art there is more than meets the eye: symbols that protect, figures that accompany, patterns that invoke. Este mes proponemos un juego: buscar colores haitianos en la ciudad. El amarillo de un toldo, el azul profundo de una sombra, el rojo de un vestido de verano. Cuando aprendes a mirar con la paleta del arte naíf, cualquier ciudad se convierte en un cuadro por descubrir.

August in Madrid has something of the Caribbean: light bouncing off façades, terraces full until late, life moving out onto the street. This month we propose a game: finding Haitian colors in the city. The yellow of an awning, the deep blue of a shadow, the red of a summer dress. Agosto se pinta con rojos, naranjas y amarillos. En «Encuentro», Elodio los convierte en refugio: un paraguas cálido que protege a dos enamorados mientras el color cae a su alrededor como confeti. Acércate a la pincelada: es audaz, generosa, casi táctil. Esa textura es la que transmite el calor de la escena, mucho antes de que la mires entera. Hoy te proponemos mirar despacio un detalle y dejar que la temperatura del cuadro te alcance.

August is painted in reds, oranges and yellows. In "Encounter", Elodio turns them into shelter: a warm umbrella protecting two lovers while color falls around them like confetti. Come close to the brushstroke: it is bold, generous, almost tactile. That texture is what conveys the warmth of the scene, long before you take in the whole painting.
