Vistas de instalación de Landon Metz en Parra & Romero Ibiza.

Seis lienzos dialogan con la luz y la arquitectura del espacio. Campos de pigmento y áreas de lienzo sin intervenir alternan presencia y vacío, haciendo que las figuras parezcan emerger y disolverse según la distancia y la mirada. La instalación prolonga así la investigación de Metz en torno a la percepción, la materia y las condiciones en las que una forma llega a hacerse visible.

La exposición puede seguir visitándose en nuestro espacio de Ibiza.

Within the gallery, the six canvases enter into dialogue with the light and architecture of the space. Fields of pigment and areas of untouched canvas shift between presence and absence, allowing the figures to emerge and recede depending on distance and attention. The installation thus extends Metz’s ongoing exploration of perception, materiality and the conditions through which form becomes visible.

The exhibition can still be visited at our Ibiza space.

Coherence Diagrams

On the occasion of Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend 2026, Parra & Romero is pleased to present Coherence Diagrams, Ana Montiel’s first solo exhibition at our Madrid gallery.

Can an inner change bring about a real change in the reality we inhabit?

Bringing together a new series of paintings and an audiovisual work, the exhibition explores the relationship between consciousness, perception, and inner transformation. Montiel’s panoramic compositions unfold through ruptures, shifts, and evolutions, becoming open, provisional diagrams — maps of a reality in continuous transformation, where the observer and the observed are inseparable.

Con motivo de Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend 2026, Parra & Romero presenta Coherence Diagrams, la primera exposición individual de Ana Montiel en nuestro espacio de Madrid.

¿Puede un cambio interior provocar un cambio real en la realidad que habitamos?

La exposición reúne una nueva serie de pinturas y una obra audiovisual que exploran la relación entre conciencia, percepción y transformación interior. Las composiciones panorámicas de Montiel se despliegan a través de rupturas, desplazamientos y evoluciones, convirtiéndose en diagramas abiertos y provisionales: mapas de una realidad en continua transformación, donde observador y observado son inseparables.

En su nuevo cuerpo de trabajo, Landon Metz amplía el lenguaje basado en el proceso que ha definido su práctica durante casi dos décadas. Aplicado directamente sobre el lienzo sin preparar, el pigmento se extiende y absorbe de manera impredecible, dando lugar a formas que emergen y se disuelven entre el control y el azar.

Por primera vez, la figura humana aparece en estas composiciones como una presencia sutil y cambiante, suspendida entre la figuración y la abstracción.

In his new body of work, Landon Metz expands the process-driven language that has defined his practice for nearly two decades. Applied directly onto unprimed canvas, pigment spreads and absorbs unpredictably, giving rise to forms that emerge and dissolve between control and chance.

For the first time, the human figure appears within these compositions as a subtle, shifting presence, suspended between figuration and abstraction.

Black Beauty (Chromatic Constellation), 2015

Since the 1960s, Heinz Mack has developed a radical practice focused on light, rhythm, and perception. Historically associated with the ZERO Group, his work operates in a space where painting moves beyond representation to become a physical and optical experience.

In Black Beauty, the surface is activated through repetitive patterns and subtle tonal modulations that generate vibration, depth, and movement. Black functions not as absence, but as a luminous field held in constant tension with materiality and space.

A work that condenses Mack’s ongoing investigation into visual energy, seriality, and the sensory expansion of painting.

«Sbilenco» es una pintura que cuestiona la idea de equilibrio y simetría a través de un gesto deliberadamente imperfecto. La obra se presenta como un cuadro enmarcado colgado intencionadamente de forma torcida, en el que un patrón geométrico —inicialmente ordenado— se va desequilibrando progresivamente. Esta desviación formal introduce una tensión visual que transforma la estructura compositiva en un elemento inestable y ambiguo.

La irregularidad se convierte así en un recurso poético capaz de subvertir la percepción de normalidad, generando una sutil sensación de inquietud. En Sbilenco, el orden y la disfuncionalidad coexisten, dando forma a un espacio de incertidumbre en el que la precisión geométrica se abre al error como una posibilidad generativa

Sbilenco is a painting that questions the idea of balance and regularity through a gesture of deliberate imperfection. The work appears as a framed picture intentionally hung askew, in which a geometric pattern—initially orderly—becomes progressively unbalanced. This formal deviation introduces a visual tension that transforms the compositional structure into an unstable and ambiguous element.

Irregularity thus becomes a poetic device capable of undermining the perception of normality, generating a subtle sense of unease. In Sbilenco, order and dysfunction coexist, shaping a space of uncertainty in which geometric precision opens itself to error as a generative possibility
