Agony + Ecstasy is delighted to unveil a rare series of rediscovered antique photographs from a variety of unknown photographers from 1950s Ibiza. Together with United Archives, based in Cologne Germany, the gallery celebrates this orphan set of imagery capturing the island in its earliest and most authentic beginnings, before it was discovered.
Traditional payesa Spanish women walk the cobbled streets of the old town, the famous skyline of Dalt Vila is still very much identical to what we still see today 70 years on. This set of rare negatives, recently scanned by United, have been digitally colour corrected to enhance the images clarity and beauty.
