Ibiza, good news! Our current exhibition Forward / Adelante is extended until January 9, 2027. What began as a summer exhibition will now continue into the new season, so it gets all the attention it deserves as we settle into our new home.

Come say hi at Avinguda 8 d’Agost 6 💚

As we step into September, holding on to the last traces of summer, Melissa Schriek’s new series Girlhood Summer turns the lens on a familiar feeling: the kind of summer memory that already feels nostalgic while you’re still living it.

A season of long days, sun-warmed skin, friendships, freedom and fleeting moments that somehow seem to exist outside of time. Melissa captures girlhood in that in-between space; intimate and carefree, yet ever so slightly unreal. Like a memory in the making, already cinematic before it has even passed.

Girlhood Summer is an ode to those summers we carry with us long after the season has changed.

Girlhood Summer is now on view in our current exhibition Forward / Adelante.

A selection of works from our first exhibition in Ibiza. Forward / Adelante, the exhibition title, carries a double meaning; in Spanish, adelante can mean to move forward or simply to come on in. With works across mediums, from painting, photography, ceramics to sculpture, this exhibition debuts a new chapter for the gallery, alongside five artists who have defined its identity over the last years: Chiara Caselli & Francesco Carrasso, Ziarah Janssen, Jorge Mañes Rubio and Melissa Schriek.

Stakes High, 2024 by Jorge Mañes Rubio.

This basketball sculpture depicts M45, a star cluster visible to the naked eye some 444 light years away, made up of more than 1,000 stars, it is commonly known as the Pleiades – mythological daughters of Atlas and Pleione in Greek mythology. Across cultures, however, this cluster is known by many names and holds both practical and symbolic significance.

In this work, artist Jorge Mañes Rubio combines his own interpretation of classical astronomical iconography with inspiration drawn from one of his favourite songs, Stakes Is High by De La Soul. The iconic track, produced by J Dilla, signifies an all or nothing moment, a plea for positive vibes and vibrations. Taking it as a creative mantra, this sculpture to Jorge represents a personal reminder to stay true to himself, avoiding shortcuts in the creative process and having fun assembling new constellations.
