3 Day intermediate workshop 7 - 9 October

Our final intensive workshop of the season is a three-day intermediate throwing workshop with artist and gallery owner Maria De Haan.

Designed for intermediate students who are ready to move beyond the basics and begin developing their own creative voice and visual language.

Maria’s own work explores emotive, tactile vessels, combining distinctive shapes with beautiful proportions and expressive textures.

Over the three days, we’ll focus on creating height and scale, developing beautiful proportions, and working with texture. We’ll also explore balance, shape and distribution, while learning how to train your eye and understand what makes a piece work.

You’ll develop the skills to throw larger and taller pieces, while gaining a deeper understanding of how to create strong, beautiful and individual forms.

Wednesday 7 – Friday 9 October · 10:30am–5:30pm
De Haan Gallery Studio · Deià, Mallorca

Only a couple of spaces remaining.

There is something very special about learning ceramics with the right teacher.

We are incredibly proud to have Jeff Frey as part of the De Haan Gallery Studio team. As our in-house ceramic artist and teacher, Jeff brings a wonderfully gentle energy to the studio — patient, encouraging and deeply knowledgeable, with a genuine passion for helping people discover the joy of working with clay.

His workshops are designed to give you the confidence to get on the wheel, understand the fundamentals of throwing and develop your own relationship with the material — all within the beautiful surroundings of Deià.

Upcoming workshops with Jeff:

2–4 September
3-Day Beginner Workshop — Throwing on the Wheel
€750

30 September–2 October
3-Day Beginner Half-Day Workshop
€550
Three mornings in the studio, with afternoons free to explore Deià, relax, or join us for a visit to the coast.

Whether you are completely new to clay or simply want to deepen your practice, Jeff creates a space where you can slow down, learn, experiment and enjoy the process.

We will be adding more workshops with Jeff throughout the winter and into 2027, so keep your eyes on our upcoming programme.

We can also adapt future experiences and tailor it specially to your group’s needs and characteristics, creating a workshop that feels personal, meaningful and right for your group.
