We are not just chiseling away at a mound of flesh before us, reshaping it into our own mind's image of healing and wholeness. It’s not a one-way application of our own perceived expertise and skill. Our clients are whole people with a whole experience. That experience has value and should be centered as a tenet of our practice. We believe that every human being is born with the innate ability to

perceive touch messages, to touch others with compassion and nurturing and achieve this every day with no professional training whatsoever. Everyone is a Body Linguist. The most powerful tool you possess as a professional is the ability to hear and interpret the language of sensory experience from the human being on your table, under your hands. Each person is perfectly fluent in the perception of both their pain and their relief from it. It is our new responsibility to strive for fluency with the human in our care, not fluency in our own perceptions of what we do…. What we were taught. Where we feel most comfortable. Whether or not our work is worthy. Its just not about us.
