In the second project of the Shortcut cycle the artist Anaisa Franco presents unpublished material of her project Circulatory System (2017), an installation based on a software for mapping and visualizing air traffic data designed to be projected on a spherical balloon. In the same way that the blood circulates and transports the necessary nutrients and oxygen to the cells, air traffic produces a continuous flow of events, conditions and energies that determine life in the framework of a global world/system. #ShortcutFS

🔳The Fundació Suñol presents Shortcut, an online exhibition program for our website. In times of restrictions on the experience of visiting the museum, we enabled a virtual shortcut to support artistic production and generate tools for knowledge, reflection and transformation. The first project we present is titled 3’31 ”, created by the artist Julia Varela, and investigates the materiality of images in the era of digital technologies. The photography that gives rise to the project, of low quality and trivial appearance, is in turn interpreted using a synthesizer created in 1938.

Programa públic FS 2020 · Taula rodona: Un secret a les Corts

Today we offer you a new audiovisual capsule where you can recover the activity A secret in les Corts, held at the Suñol Foundation on March 11, and which included the participation of Glòria Picazo as moderator, and the artists Zush and Rosa Amorós.

The Galeria 2 was set up in 1980 as a storeroom for the Suñol Soler Collection, responding to its rapid expansion, and was also a key site for those seeking to discover the city’s art scene. Throughout the years, Galeria 2 also served as a studio and place of residence for artists such as Zush, José Noguero, Pablo Maeso and Rosa Amorós.

📌We would like to conclude de #MuseumWeek by showing you an artwork of Ignasi Aballi called Classificats (Rosa) -Classified (Pink)- made in 2008. In this piece the artist presents us all the pinks that exist in the world, in an exercise of taxonomy.

We’ve chosen this artwork for the #dreamsMW, because we found it interesting to think over the multiplicity of a single element, as simple and basic as a colour. We live in a complex world, and we hope that will stay like this for a long time.

📡If yesterday we talked about climate and environment in the #MuseumWeek, today we want to talk about the technification of human beings. Whether we like it or not, technologies are here to stay. It allows us to evolve, but this evolution is not without risks.

At this time of social connection through the screen and profound changes in society, we defend that art also serves to reflect and imagine us in the near future. In the image, we present you an artwork of our collection made by Eloi Puig in 1999, called Uno y su esquema (One and his squeme).

🌿These past months of lockdown, many of us have been away from nature. We have rediscovered how necessary is the space that surrounds us, including our nearest context: the cities in which most of us live.

Today, we participate in the #MuseumWeek day, dedicated to #ClimateMW. We found it interesting to share with you an artwork of Robert Smith, a little-known artist who is part of our collection. This suggesting artwork, titled “The Grass Man”(1974), invites us to reconnect and to merge with nature.

The Suñol Foundation joins the #MuseumWeek, and in the #heroesMW day presents this artwork from the Josep Suñol Soler Collection, made by Ramon Guillen-Balmes, entitled “Small support for Txema Retana”. At this moment, when collective support networks become indispensable, we want to highlight the importance of mutual care.

🗯️ Today we present to you the audiovisual capsule ITALIA. I sei sense (The Six Senses)

An exhibition fruit of the re-reading of the second avant-garde Italian artists' work 🇮🇹 from the Josep Suñol Collection. Its title comes from one of the series produced by Alighiero Boetti throughout the seventies: I sei sensi, where he stressed the importance of reason (pensare) in his artistic production. In this capsule, the images are accompanied by the Canzone Rumorista (1916) from the painter and composer Luigi Russolo 🎵👂

💢 THE SHAPE OF MOVEMENTS is the third worksheet from #ArtacasaSuñolSoler to do with your family.

Movement was one of the favorite topics of futurist artists. But if painting creates still images and sculpture produces motionless objects… How can actions be represented?

This worksheet is to look, think, feel, experiment, know and enjoy the work Linee-Forza del pugno di Boccioni II (1968, made from the original 1915 prototype) by Giacomo Balla 🥊. 🌈 New audiovisual capsule: Miralda & Xifra: Situació Color, 1976

On June 10th, 1976, Josep Suñol requested to Antoni Miralda and Jaume Xifra the creation of Situació Color, a party-ritual to celebrate the opening of his new house. To document this event the video Situació Color was made, edited from a film in Super 8 by Roberto Mardones. 👁 This is a detail of the work Painting nº5 (1959) by Manuel Millares that inspires the worksheet WHAT DO YOU FEEL? from #ArtacasaSuñolSoler

Millares was part of an avant-garde artist collective known as El Paso, which was active in Spain in the late 1950s, during a dark and difficult political period. Artists such as Rafael Canogar, Luis Feito and Antonio Saura, among others were also part of it.

💡In case you don’t know what to do this weekend… We want to show the you the worksheet WHAT DO YOU FEEL? from the #ArtacasaSuñolSoler programme to make with your family or in group.

In informalist works, matter, strokes, colours and shapes become an explicit manifestation of the artist’s energy and intention, as well as telling us about the context in which they were created. In order to close the communicative cercle of art, the artworks need to be nourished by our reaction in the form of feelings and emotions.

This worksheet is to look, think, feel, experiment, know and enjoy the piece Painting nº 5 (1959) of Manuel Millares. Download it or print it through this link 👉https://www.fundaciosunol.org/en/publicos-diversos/que-sents/

The second audiovisual capsule that we offer you is a virtual tour of the exhibition dedicated to the artist present in the Josep Suñol Collection Luis Frangella: La jarra vertiente o Máquina de escribir [The Gushing Jug or Drawing Machine].

With the aim of revealing the silent expressionism of a little-known artist, the exhibition consisted of a selection of 32 pieces made between 1980 and 1989, which mix transgression and tradition, while moving along the fine line between abstraction and a permanent challenge to figuration.

Carlos Pazos is the artist that inspires the worksheet ART WITH OBJECTS with his piece Parole, parole (1991).

Born in Barcelona (1949), he is an artist that questions any system of representation. He considers that image can no longer evoke any reality and in consequence he uses souvenirs and objects in his work, making the art of collecting one of its main focus.

ART WITH OBJECTS is the first worksheet from Art at home.

A book, a shoe, sunglasses – these are functional objects from daily life we are all familiar with. Yet what effect do they have on us when we find them out of context? What new meaning do they take on when they are presented in an unusual, unexpected way?

This worksheet is to look, think, feel, experiment, know and enjoy the work Parole, parole (1991) by Carlos Pazos.
