Tras su exposición en el Museo de Arte Danubiana Meulensteen de Bratislava (Eslovaquia), y antes de su próxima muestra individual en el Museo Ludwig de Koblenz (Alemania), nos complace presentar la exposición debut en España de Lubomír Typlt.
Bajo el título «All Swings Are Taken / Todos Los Columpios Están Ocupados», la exposición continúa la audaz exploración de Typlt al interior de la pintura figurativa, reuniendo una selección obra reciente definida por la tensión psicológica entre el individuo y lo colectivo ha sido desde hace tiempo un tema central en la obra de Typlt.

Nacido en 1975 en Nová Paka (República Checa), estudió inicialmente ilustración en la Academia de Artes, Arquitectura y Diseño de Praga, antes de orientarse hacia la pintura en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Brno.

Posteriormente continuó sus estudios en la prestigiosa Kunstakademie Düsseldorf con Markus Lüpertz, Gerhard Merz y A.R. Penck, donde obtuvo el título de Meisterschüler en 2004.

Esta formación de base tiende un puente entre la tradición figurativa checa y el neoexpresionismo alemán, un diálogo estético que sigue definiendo su práctica actual en pintura, instalación y música.

Following his major exhibition at the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum in Bratislava, Slovakia, and ahead of his upcoming solo show at the Ludwig Museum in Koblenz, Germany, we are thrilled to present Lubomír Typlt’s debut exhibition in Spain.
Entitled *”All Swings are taken”* the exhibition continues TypIt’s bold exploration of figurative painting, bringing together a focused selection of recent works defined by their striking color palettes and dynamic compositions.
The psychological tension between the individual and the collective has long been a core theme in Typlt’s work.
Born in 1975 in Nová Paka, Czech Republic, he initially studied illustration at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague before turning to painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno.
He later continued his studies at the prestigious Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Markus Lüpertz, Gerhard Merz, and A.R. Penck, where he received the title of Meisterschüler in 2004.
This formative background bridges Czech figurative traditions with German Neo-Expressionism-an aesthetic dialogue that continues to define his practice today across painting, installation, and music.

Children, adolescents and collective figures populate the exhibition, exploring themes of play, ritual, confrontation, vulnerability and group behaviour.

Prior to Barcelona, Typlt presented two solo shows in 2026: Great Panic at the DON Gallery, Tábor (29 March-13 June), followed by I Came Back, Though We Didn’t Miss Each Other at the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Bratislava.

This exhibition entitled “All Swings are taken” continues Typlt’s exploration of figurative painting, bringing together a focused selection of recent works for his debut presentation in Spain.

The psychological tension between the individual and the collective has long been a defining theme in Typlt’s work. Born in 1975 in Nová Paka, Czech Republic, he studied illustration at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague before turning to painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno.

He later studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Markus Lüpertz, Gerhard Merz and A.R. Penck, receiving the title of Meisterschüler in 2004. His artistic formation brings together Czech figurative traditions and German Neo-Expressionism, influences that continue to shape his practice today.

We are pleased to present Lubomir Typlt, the Czech artist’s first solo show in Spain, “All Swings are taken” on view in Barcelona
from 19th September to 18th October 2026.

The exhibition brings together seventeen works created between 2020 and 2026, including seven large-scale oil paintings on canvas and ten tempera works on paper.

Children, adolescents and collective figures populate the exhibition, exploring themes of play, ritual, confrontation, vulnerability and group behaviour.

Saturated colour, expressive brushwork and compressed compositions define Typlt’s distinctive figurative language.

Prior to Barcelona, Typlt presented two solo shows in 2026: Great Panic at the DON Gallery, Tábor (29 March-13 June), followed by I Came Back, Though We Didn’t Miss Each Other at the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Bratislava (7 June-30 August).
