RCR Arquitectes — Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta — recipients of the 2017 Pritzker Prize, have placed drawing at the centre of their creative process since the founding of the studio. Their characteristic ink washes synthesize spatial and conceptual intuitions, becoming a fundamental tool in the conception and development of their projects.

Do not miss your chance to visit this collective exhibition, held in the context of the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026, on view until July 11th. If you are not able to visit it in person you can still explore it online (link in bio) 🔗

In Lorenzo Fernández’s series of hand-painted diptychs, each measuring 8 × 8 cm, historical figures appear alongside the actresses who portrayed them on screen. Anne Boleyn faces Natalie Portman, Sharon Tate meets Margot Robbie, creating encounters where history and cinema merge into a single image. These intimate works explore how collective memory is shaped through both historical narratives and popular culture.

Functioning as imagined archival fragments, the diptychs blur the boundaries between reality and representation. The historical figure and her cinematic double become reflections of one another, revealing how both are transformed into enduring cultural icons. Painted by hand yet recalling photographic images, the works question the relationship between memory, fiction, and historical truth.

CURRENTLY ON VIEW: "Architectural Drawings" by Palou, Peter Märkli, Nuno Melo Sousa and RCR Arquitectes.

Nuno Melo Sousa (Penafiel, 1988) develops an immediate and intuitive artistic practice alongside an architectural approach deeply connected to construction processes and material reality. Built through vibrant lines and colours, his drawings evoke architectural ideas with remarkable expressive force, revealing drawing as both a tool for thinking and a form of creation in itself.

Join us on Monday, June 22 at 7 pm for the conversation Drawing and Architecture, with Nuno Melo Sousa and architect Miquel Mariné. An opportunity to explore the role of drawing beyond as a space for imagination, research and architectural thought.

CURRENTLY ON VIEW: "Architectural Drawings" by Palou, Peter Märkli, Nuno Melo Sousa and RCR Arquitectes.

Bringing together four architects from different generations and contexts, the exhibition explores drawing as more than a technical tool: a space for intuition, reflection and artistic expression. Through engravings, sketches, visual notes and ink washes, Architectural Drawings reveals how drawing becomes an essential part of architectural thinking and creation.

On view at Pigment Gallery until July 11. If you are not able to see the show in person you are still invited to explore it online in our website or our profiles in Artsy and Artnet (link in bio 🔗).

In his new large-scale work Laredo, composed of four engraved plates, Juan Escudero evokes the movement and energy of the sea through thousands of finely engraved lines that flow seamlessly across the composition. Suggesting ocean currents, waves, and shifting light, the work creates a powerful sense of rhythm and depth. Rather than depicting a specific landscape, Laredo captures the essence of water in motion, transforming a meticulous graphic process into a poetic meditation on nature, time, and continuous change.

CURRENTLY ON VIEW: "Architectural Drawings" by Palou, Märkli, Nuno Melo Sousa and RCR

Peter Märkli (Zurich, 1953) has maintained drawing as an inseparable part of his architectural practice since the 1980s. His works often function as free annotations, inner images, or visual thoughts that, beyond their connection to specific projects, acquire a poetic and conceptual autonomy.
