“auntiescapes is about the auntie interpretation of the body. We see the body as terrain to be explored. It is a number of things: a store of energy, part of a much bigger soul, it’s also a collection of organisms, and so many other things.”

Load Gallery and niceaunties wenhui lim bring Mirror Into Auntieverse to Sónar+D 2026 Sónar On 18 and 19 June, the gallery will present the Singaporean artist’s first interactive installation, extending the experience of her current exhibition, auntiescapes, within the festival programme.

In addition, as part of the Beyond the Screen programme, niceaunties will present the talk «Auntiescapes: Reframing culture, body and landscape through AI», on 18 June, 16:30–17:15, at Stage+D (Llotja de Mar).

Now open: auntiescapes by

Thank you to everyone who joined us throughout the opening weekend and brought such warmth, curiosity, and energy into the space. It was a pleasure to see visitors engaging so openly with the works and conversations unfolding around the show.

At the center of the exhibition, “Mirror Into Auntieverse” became a gathering point throughout the opening weekend. The interactive installation documents the auntie love language of our times. Through humour, reflection, and participation, the work transforms the space into a collective experience filled with laughter, movement, and unexpected conversations.

The exhibition runs until 15 August at .gallery . Come experience the world of auntiescapes from Thursday to Saturday, 4–8 pm.

“I approach the body as a living landscape. Skin behaves like terrain, continuously renewing, hosting microorganisms, and responding to cycles much like the Earth itself. Flesh becomes geological, layered with memory and time, while emotions move through the body like natural forces, building, dissolving, and reshaping what we feel and see. This reflects an understanding of the body as inseparable from its environment, challenging the illusion of separation between self and world.”

“Cadascuna d’aquestes obres és un moment d’un somni. Per exemple, un dels somnis era que estava al mig d’un bosc, i els arbres anaven caient i dissolent-se. Crec que el fet que visquem al bosc és molt important, ja que som amants de la natura i ens ha guiat i inspirat molt.”

“Cada una de estas obras es un momento de un sueño. Por ejemplo, uno de los sueños era que estaba en medio de un bosque, y los árboles iban cayendo y disolviéndose. Creo que el hecho de que vivamos en el bosque es muy importante, ya que somos amantes de la naturaleza y nos ha guiado e inspirado mucho.”

“Each of these pieces is a moment from a dream. For example, one of the dreams was that I was in the middle of the forest, and the trees were falling and dissolving. I think the fact that we are living in the forest is very important, as we are nature lovers and it gave us a lot of inspiration and guided us.”

Coming to OFFF? Add Load to your agenda!

Just a short walk from the Disseny Hub , Load is currently hosting Paramnésico, a solo exhibition by Desilence , a rare opportunity to experience their work outside of immersive and performative contexts, in a more intimate gallery format. Rooted in abstract painting, their work unfolds as a kind of visual alchemy: shifting forms, dissolving landscapes, and images that seem a dream residue, never quite coming to a resolution.

Paramnésico, de Desilence , del 5 de març al 25 d’abril de 2026.

El llenguatge visual fluid és un element central de l’obra de Desilence: amb arrels en la pintura abstracta, els ha portat anys desenvolupar els mitjans tècnics i conceptuals necessaris per a “pintar” amb imatges en moviment.

En Paramnésico,les obres evoquen l’alquímia: les formes es dissolen i es recombinen com si els pigments es difuminessin en l’aigua. Un paisatge amb un arbre solitari es transforma gradualment en una forma orgànica ambigua, després es dispersa en l’abstracció, només per a reconstituir-se — un joc subtil que el subconscient juga amb la memòria i la forma.

El lenguaje visual fluido es un elemento central de la obra de Desilence: con raíces en la pintura abstracta, les ha llevado años desarrollar los medios técnicos y conceptuales necesarios para “pintar” con imágenes en movimiento.

En Paramnésico, las obras evocan alquimia: las formas se disuelven y se recombinan como si los pigmentos se difuminaran en el agua. Un paisaje con un árbol solitario se transforma gradualmente en una forma orgánica ambigua, luego se dispersa en la abstracción, solo para reconstituirse — un juego sutil que el subconsciente juega con la memoria y la forma.

The fluid visual language is central to Desilence’s practice: rooted in abstract painting, it has taken them years to develop the technical and conceptual means to “paint” with moving images.

In Paramnésico, the works evoke alchemy: forms dissolve and recombine as if pigments were diffusing through water. A landscape with a solitary tree gradually mutates into an ambiguous organic form, then disperses into abstraction, only to reconstitute itself — a subtle game the subconscious plays with memory and form.
