The exhibition will started Saturday the 4th of December until the 18th of December,2021. “In his exhibition Sun, artist Shaaban ElHosiny endows sunflowers, which are basking in the sunshine, looking towards the horizon, and filling the fields with joy, with mythical characteristics. At times, a sunflower rides a mysterious horse-like, blood-red creature that seems like a Buraq and at others is depicted as a girl with braided hair. This girl is big in some paintings and small in others, She sits at the edge of the table by the flowerpot, next to which she seems the size of Little Thumbling while a hoopoe whispers the secrets of wisdom in her ears. ZAGPICK Gallery, Zayed Branch is looking forward to seeing you at the opening For artist SAMEH ISMAIL, “MOVING FORWARD”, Exhibition Started from February 13th, until March the 4th, 2021. “In this exhibition, Sameh Ismail shifts to unusual media and breaks away from the familiar, both in terms of materials and in terms of tools. He uses unprepared surfaces and breathes through their pores to explore the endless possibilities they offer. His decision to transcend everything that is typical is not only an attempt to steer away from repetition, but also part of a quest for his own self and for what the experience will endow him with. In doing so, he writes his own artistic language, whose alphabet is a mixture of colors, techniques, materials, and surfaces. Letters have always accompanied Ismail in his relentless journey to explore the subtle and the unique in his artistic compositions. Letters intertwine and disentangle as words float over the surfaces, at times leaving dots on their own as if they have chosen a different path. To maintain the uniqueness of the experience, it was necessary to move to the next phase and complete the sentence that has been formulating and add it to the rest of the text. Artist Fathi Hassan’s Current exhibition “Dream Waves”, Started From October 17th until November 5th, 2020. @fathihassanartist “Fathi Hassan is as gentle as he looks, yet he is a rebel with many causes. He has painted many self-portraits, one of which represents his belonging to two cultures, La Divisione (1991): the Arab-African and the white-Western. For more than 30 years he has chosen to live in Italy, with all its rich aesthetic heritage, hence the influence on his work of post-war Italian artists such as Giuseppe Capogrossi, Gastone Novelli, the Arte Povera movement, and Alighiero Boetti, whom he knew personally. His sources of inspiration are varied however, for he often pays homage to other Arab, African, American or Italian artists in his work and openly admits his admiration for them. He is also attracted by Japanese haiku (which he reads translated into Italian), the lyrics of Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Hafez, and Julia Boutros’s patriotic songs.
