أحيانًا، لا تكمن أهمية الاكتشاف الأثري في القطع المكتشفة وحدها، بل فيما تكشفه لنا عن المكان وتاريخه.

في تل الفَرْخَة، بشرق دلتا النيل، تكشف لنا الاكتشافات الأثرية المذهلة عن أهمية موقع ارتبط، منذ أكثر من 5,000 عام، بأنشطة اقتصادية وسياسية وتجارية بين مصر والشرق الأدنى.

وفي المراحل التكوينية المبكرة للدولة المصرية القديمة، أسهمت هذه الروابط في تشكيل الحضارة المصرية التي استمرت لآلاف السنين.

ومن بين هذه الاكتشافات، تبرز هذه التماثيل الاستثنائية المغطاة بالذهب، شاهدةً ليس فقط على براعة صانعيها ومهارتهم الحرفية، وإنما أيضًا على المكانة والأهمية التي حظي بها موقع تل الفَرْخَة.

Some discoveries tell us as much about the place where they were found as they do about the objects themselves.

At Tell El Farkha, in the eastern Nile Delta, remarkable archaeological discoveries reveal the importance of a site that, more than 5,000 years ago, was connected to economic, political, and commercial activity between Egypt and the Near East.

During the formative stages of the ancient Egyptian state, such connections helped shape the civilisation that would endure for millennia.

Among the discoveries, these extraordinary gold-covered figures stand out—not only for the remarkable skill and craftsmanship of their makers, but also as a reflection of the significance of Tell El Farkha itself.

ارتبط الجعران في مصر القديمة بمعاني البعث والتجدد، وبالمعبود خبري الذي جسّد شمس الصباح. ومع إضافة الأجنحة، اجتمعت رمزية الجعران مع معاني الحماية.

وتظهر هذه الرموز في قطعة مميزة تعود إلى العصر البطلمي، صُنِع فيها الجعران من اللازورد، بينما صُنعت أجنحته من الذهب والفضة وزُيّنت بالأحجار شبه الكريمة.

اكتُشفت القطعة ضمن مجموعة من الكنوز كانت مُخبأة بالقرب من البحيرة المقدسة في معبد دندرة، لتجسّد إيمان المصري القديم بالبعث والتجدد والحياة الأبدية.

Wings of protection. A scarab of rebirth. A symbol shaped by the rising sun.

Associated with Khepri and the sun’s daily renewal, the scarab held powerful meaning in ancient Egypt. In this remarkable Ptolemaic piece, lapis lazuli, gold, silver, and semi-precious stones come together to express ideas of protection, transformation, and eternal life.

Discovered near the sacred lake of the Temple of Dendera, it carries a story of renewal that has endured for thousands of years.

يجمع هذا الصقر المبهر، المصنوع من الذهب والفضة، مهارة الصنع ودقة التنفيذ والمكانة المقدسة التي حظي بها الصقر في مصر القديمة.

وقد عُثر عليه في معبد دندرة، ويُرجّح أنه احتوى على جسد صقر مُحنَّط، ليكون تابوتًا على هيئة صقر، في تقليدٍ ارتبط بانتشار عباده الحيوانات المقدسة في مصر القديمة خلال العصر المتأخر.

More than a remarkable work of craftsmanship, this golden and silver falcon reflects the sacred place these birds held in ancient Egyptian belief.

Found at the Temple of Dendera, it may have housed the mummified body of a real falcon, offering a glimpse into the widespread tradition of sacred animal cult in ancient Egypt during the Late Period.

عقدان من التعاون المصري الياباني 🇯🇵🇪🇬

احتفالًا بمرور 20 عامًا على التعاون المصري الياباني في مجال المتاحف وصون التراث الثقافي، ينظم المتحف المصري الكبير بالتعاون مع هيئة التعاون الدولي اليابانية (JICA) ندوة GEM-GHUB Symposium 2026 – Two Decades of Egypt-Japan Cooperation، خلال الفترة من 30 أغسطس إلى 1 سبتمبر 2026.

تجمع الندوة نخبة من المتخصصين من مصر واليابان لاستعراض أبرز ما تحقق على مدار عقدين من التعاون في مجالات الحفظ والترميم، والفحص العلمي، والتوثيق، وتبادل الخبرات، إلى جانب استكشاف آفاق جديدة للتعاون مستقبلًا.

Two Decades of Egypt–Japan Cooperation 🇪🇬🇯🇵

Marking 20 years of collaboration in museums and cultural heritage preservation, the Grand Egyptian Museum, in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), presents the GEM-GHUB Symposium 2026.

The symposium brings together specialists from Egypt and Japan to reflect on two decades of shared achievements in conservation and restoration, scientific examination, documentation, and knowledge exchange, while exploring new opportunities for future collaboration.

منذ أكثر من 5,000 عام، جمعت صلاية منشأة عزّت بين الطبيعة والأسطورة والرمزية في قطعة أثرية واحدة، لتكشف كيف استخدم المصري القديم الصورة؛ للتعبير عن مفاهيم القوة والنظام.

A story told thousands of years ago.
More than 5,000 years ago, the Minshat Ezzat Palette brought together nature, myth, and symbolism in a single remarkable object, offering a glimpse into how ancient Egyptians used imagery to express ideas of power and order.

من قلب النيل، تجسّد التمساح رمزًا للقوة والهيبة والحماية من هجمات التماسيح أو الأرواح الشريرة، فخشاه المصري القديم وقدّسه في صورةً المعبود سوبك.

مثل النيل، جمع سوبك بين قوتين متناقضتين: واهبًا للحياة، ومصدرًا للرهبة والخطر.

أكثر من مجرد قطعة فنية بديعة، تروي المقصورة الذهبية الصغيرة قصة إنسانية مميزة. فقد صُوِّرت على جوانبها مناظر تجمع الملك توت عنخ آمون بالملكة عنخ إس إن آمون، احتفاءً برابطهما في الدنيا، وتعبيرًا عن الأمل في أن يستمر هذا الارتباط في العالم الآخر.

وتُظهر المشاهد الملك والملكة معًا في لحظات داخل القصر وخارجه، بينما تسجل النقوش اسميهما وألقابهما، وتحمل الأمنيات لهما بالحياة الأبدية. هكذا تحوّلت هذه المقصورة الذهبية الصغيرة إلى تجسيد خالد للمحبة والرفقة، ولإيمان المصريين القدماء بأن الروابط التي تجمع البشر يمكن أن تمتد إلى الأبد.

More than a beautifully crafted object, the Little Golden Shrine tells a deeply personal story. Its scenes depict Tutankhamun and Queen Ankhesenamun together, celebrating their union in this life and expressing the hope that it would continue into the next.

The king and queen are shown side by side in both indoor and outdoor settings, while the inscriptions record their names, titles, and wishes for eternal life. Together, they transform this small shrine into a timeless expression of love, companionship, and the ancient Egyptian belief that bonds could endure forever.
