Townhouse gallery of contemporary art was established in November 1998. with the aim of providing the suitable opportunities to organise, prepare and host contemporary art exhibitions, as well as fostering a community of artists and community cultural activities. Townhouse of contemporary art is proud of its legacy and a history that spanned over twenty years of artistic a
nd cultural events, projects and participations with diverse outcomes and different levels of success that proved our positive and continued presence in the field. Townhouse enjoyed a distinguished and acknowledged reputation in the local and International cultural field through living multiple, different and varied visual and performative projects, which always focussed on the artist’s concepts and production, providing a serious platform for critical discussions. Based on the latest developments - which is driven by unique and urgent circumstances- in the last period, came the necessity to evolve and change; and from here we were convinced of the inevitability of the existence of a modern entity to take on the challenges and vision of the past. With a creative team in charge that seeks new ideas, visions and aspirations, as well as working with strategies that suit the present day and near future, a new space and approach is born.
