بمناسبة ذكرى انتصارات حرب أكتوبر ١٩٧٣م، يعرض متحف الشرطة القومي قطعة شهر أكتوبر، وهي رشاش خفيف، ماركة «ديجتياريف»، صناعة روسية، من الأسلحة التي استخدمها الجيش المصري خلال حرب أكتوبر، ليبقى شاهدًا ماديًا على إحدى صفحات البطولة والانتصار في تاريخ مصر الحديث.
وتحمل هذه القطعة قيمة تاريخية تتجاوز كونها سلاحًا؛ فهي تمثل شاهدًا ماديًا على إحدى أهم محطات التاريخ المصري الحديث، وتُسهم في توثيق جانب من التاريخ العسكري لمصر خلال حرب أكتوبر ١٩٧٣م، وما ارتبط بها من أحداث وبطولات.
فمنذ أقدم العصور، ارتبط تاريخ مصر بالدفاع عن أرضها وحماية حدودها، واستمر هذا الدور عبر مختلف مراحل التاريخ حتى العصر الحديث، لتبقى الأدوات والأسلحة التي ارتبطت بهذه المراحل جزءًا من الذاكرة المادية والتاريخية لمصر، يحفظها متحف الشرطة ويقدمها للأجيال القادمة للتعرف على صفحات مضيئة من تاريخ الوطن.
The occasion of commemorating the victory of the October War of 1973, the National Police Museum presents its Object of the Month for October, Degtyaryov light machine gun, manufactured in Russia, one of the weapons used by the Egyptian Army during the October War, and a material witness to the memory of Egypt’s October victories.
Beyond being a weapon, this object holds significant historical value. It represents a material testimony to one of the most important chapters in Egypt’s modern history, contributing to the documentation of an aspect of Egypt’s military history during the October War of 1973.
Since ancient times, Egypt’s history has been closely connected with the defense of its land and borders. This role continued through the different historical periods into the modern era. Weapons and other objects associated with these periods therefore form part of Egypt’s material and historical memory, preserved by the museum and presented to future generations as a means of discovering important chapters of the nation’s history.
