Education Must Be a Priority, Even in War: Professor Siddig Umbadda on Sudan’s Exam Crisis

Up to 280,000 students have been locked out of the Sudan National Secondary School Examinations, a gateway to higher education and economic mobility.
Economist Siddig Umbadda warns that without urgent intervention, these students risk becoming casualties not only of war, but of systemic neglect. A grassroots initiative is now pushing for a unified, nonpolitical solution, seeking to bridge rival authorities and prevent the emergence of parallel education systems.
