Inta Ruka, the quiet storyteller of everyday life.

The Latvian photographer captures lives in homes, courtyards, and streets – places where everyday life unfolds. She returns to the same people over time, working slowly and allowing trust to develop.

The resulting photographs are not merely documentary; they preserve places, relationships, and lived experiences from which a sense of belonging emerges.

Inta Ruka "Places Called Home" on view until October 4, 2026.

"The dearest wish of a war photographer is to be out of business."

As part of exhibition "Photography in Power" one of the most influential war photographers of our time, James Nachtwey, comes to Tallinn.

On May 27, Nachtwey will share an honest and unfiltered perspective, including his work documenting the war in Ukraine.

After the Artist Talk, the second part of the evening is dedicated to Ukrainian culture, food, music and Help99 stories.

Together with Help99 we're raising funds for an evacuation vehicle that will save lives on the front lines in Ukraine.

The lookalikes used look nothing like the real-life monsters, but with the right wig, angle, and orange skin shade, Alison Jackson created this staged reality.

Through sharp satire and provocation, Jackson’s work reveals our own desire to believe what seems too good (or too scandalous) to be false.

Want to know more? Alison Jackson takes the Fotografiska Tallinn stage on May 12 at 18:00 together with Neeme Raud.

The artwork can be seen at the “Photography in Power” exhibition at Fotografiska Tallinn.
