After a long journey and many freak weather conditions, I arrived near Billund last night and was able to hand over the ambulance. After a short night, I’ll now take the train to Copenhagen and then fly on to Stockholm.

In 2012, Hella launched the KL 7000 LED. The idea was to convert the proven KL 700 beacon to LED in just a few simple steps. For this, the base of the KL 700 was retained. The module is attached with three screws, as with most Hella beacons. The lower dome was attached, and the conversion was completed in under 10 minutes. From a sustainability perspective, the idea was good, but it never really caught on. Unfortunately, the quality of the LED modules, especially in the early versions, was very prone to failure, which also led to their less frequent use.

New in the collection is a KLX 7000 FL from Hella, it was still missing in the summary. The red KLX 7000 was only available in plug-in (FL) and fixed installation (B1) versions and is not approved for road traffic – in Germany. The red warning light usually marks the incident command on site. Depending on the (federal) state, the red warning light must be covered during driving.

The purple beacon indicates that one of us has embarked on his final journey. With deep affection, we bid farewell to a colleague of our rescue service in the municipality who lost his life in a cowardly attack.

Die lila Kennleuchte zeigt, dass einer von uns seine letzte Reise angetreten hat. In tiefer Verbundenheit verabschieden wir uns von einem Rettungsdienst Kollegen in der Nordanstig kommun durch ein feiges Attentat sein Leben verlor.

Den lila fyren indikerar att en av oss har påbörjat sin sista resa. Med djup tillgivenhet tar vi farväl av en kollega i vår Ambulans i Nordanstigs kommun som miste livet i en feg attack.

Just in time for the emergency services industry's Christmas season, Hänsch received KBA approval for the Movia (D) LED on December 1, 2006. Its proven housing design is that of the previous Movia family, now with state-of-the-art LED technology. The centerpiece is a central block with four sides and three high-performance LEDs each. A plastic lens was placed over each LED to achieve overlapping 360° illumination.

As far as I know, the Movia D LED was available exclusively for the BOS sector and only in blue. A simple hood swap with the identical hoods of the previous Movias was not possible because the LEDs emit blue light. Changing to, for example, an orange hood would result in a very greenish and weak light image, thus negating the warning effect. Not to mention the lack of type approval.

Why this light is being presented today is because I've been looking for it for many years and it's only now coming into my collection. The lamp wasn't listed for very long and disappeared from the market almost immediately with the introduction of the Movia SL. I'm all the more pleased to now have one in my collection.

It's been a bit quiet on this channel for a while, but things are starting up again. As usual, I hope to show you a new beacon from my collection every week. Over the last year, I've accumulated quite a few that haven't been shown yet.

I'd like to start with a magnetic beacon from Federal Signal Vama, type LM 330. It's interesting that the power cable is removable, which makes less sense with this model, as the little sister of the LM 300 doesn't have a battery. And thus, at approximately 600 grams, it's about 300 grams lighter. With its 10 high-performance LEDs and the corresponding lenses, the beacon covers the required 360° visibility.

The purple light shows that one of our colleagues has embarked on his final journey. In deep connection, we bid farewell to Michael, a lovable colleague and "the swedish collector".
Besides his expertise, he was a good friend to me until the end.

Den lila varningslampan visar att en av våra kollegor har påbörjat sin sista resa. Med djup samhörighet tar vi farväl av Michael, en älskvärd kollega och "den svenska samlaren". Förutom sin fackkunskap var han till slt också en god vän till mig.
